"This is a beautiful hotel tucked away in a little river. We loved Liesel, the hostess. She helped us with check-in because you do need to park at Ram Marina and get a boat ride to arrive at the hotel. The restaurant was delicious and we loved our stay."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Fronteras?
The best time to visit Fronteras is during the dry season, which runs from November to May.During these months, you'll experience consistently sunny days and lower humidity, making it ideal for exploring the Rio Dulce and its surroundings. The river levels are also typically more stable, which is great for boat trips and accessing attractions like the Castillo de San Felipe. This period avoids the heavier rains that can sometimes disrupt travel plans or make outdoor activities less comfortable. For those who enjoy a slightly cooler climate and prefer fewer crowds, the shoulder months of November and May are particularly pleasant. You still get excellent weather but with a more relaxed feel before or after the peak tourist season. This can be superb for couples looking for a peaceful escape. If you're interested in sailing or longer boat excursions, the dry season offers the most reliable conditions.
