"Location was perfect for our needs as we were at an event at the nearby prison museum. Room was clean and spacious. It has a Travelodge vibe to it which is by no means a complaint as we both slept well. You would need a car to stay here I think but had tons of parking. There was a restaurant which was open all day but we never used it but seemed busy."
"We have been coming back to Saplinbrea for a number of years. The staff and the food are excellent. The whole hotel has great ambiance, and provides a wonderful experience.
Only negative is that carpeting in corridors is a little tired."
"Beautiful hotel, I’ll definitely stay here again. Staff were incredibly kind. My friend stayed in a separate room and she had breakfast booked, they kindly called up to remind her so she could go down."
"We have stayed there before and wanted to return. It was so worth it. Nice room and wonderful restaurant with fabulous food and drink. I even had pancakes and the grill was broken! I had them two years ago and they were the best in Scotland so the owner made sure they could make them again!! They even recognized us (two traveling couples) from two years ago!
Such amiable people! Five stars!!"
Stunning 1 Bedroom Fishermans Cottage Located In The Beautiful Village Of Pennan
10/10 Excellent
"This cottage is so authentic with it's cosy, comfortable and quirky look, really made us feel at home. It has everything and more that you need and want to ensure your stay is catered for, Kate has thought of everything. The views from the house are breathtaking and we really enjoyed having our breakfast and other meals outside, looking out at the sea, accompanied by the cute seals. Pennan is truly a lovely place, where life slows down, relaxing and the locals are very friendly. Access to the beach, sea and walks, perfect for for a couple holiday, we certainly enjoyed paddleboarding. Various places nearby to visit and not forgetting the delicious cakes from Coastal Cuppie and outstanding meal from The Pennan Inn. Loved this cottage so much, we booked again for the next year, while staying there. Beyond perfect, never felt so relaxed. Looking forward to our next stay. Found our little piece of heaven by the sea."
