"This is a cozy little place off the beaten path to rest for a night. Comfortable room, nice owners & great place to enjoy relaxing outside around a fire. Will stay again if ever in NewCastle again."

"Wonderful cabin for families to gather. Hot tub was clean- which is a huge perk. We loved the camp fire and local trails. Loved having starlink WiFi since we didn’t have service."

Ponderosa Hills Vacation Cabin - Home Base for ALL your Black Hills adventures!

10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful stay at this vacation home in Lead, South Dakota! The house was exactly as described and was a great central location for exploring the Black Hills. During our stay, we visited Deadwood, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, and Spearfish Canyon, and the location made it easy to enjoy all of these destinations. At the same time, the house felt secluded and was incredibly quiet and peaceful. We especially enjoyed seeing wildlife around the property every day! There was plenty of room for our group of 14 people, as well as space for our 10 motorcycles, which was a huge plus for us. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was very well equipped, allowing us to prepare several meals for our large group. The hot tub was also clean and well maintained and was a great way to relax after a full day of sightseeing and riding. The host was extremely responsive and answered our questions very quickly. We had a great experience and would highly recommend this home, especially for larger groups or anyone looking for a peaceful home base while exploring the Black Hills. We would definitely stay here again!"

"This home was an excellent choice for our family vacation! The home is beautiful and was thoughtfully prepared for our arrival. As a family, we enjoyed sharing meals together and spending time in the hot tub. The kitchen is adequately stocked for our meal prep. The Blackstone grill was perfect! Our grandkids loved the animals! The host provides a memorable experience by allowing us to collect eggs and feed the chickens, donkeys and goats. An added bonus was getting to use the eggs for our breakfast! Our vacation plan was to ride the forest trails with UTV/ATVs. This location is near entry points of the Black Hills National Forest. It was convenient to leave the trailer at the property and drive directly to the trail head. The scenery on the trails is beautiful, including the many cow/calf pairs that were grazing.A must-see while in the Black Hills is the Mount Rushmore Evening Lighting ceremony. Allow time to spend in the Visitor Center to learn the history of the monument. And take time to walk the 0.6 mile Presidential Trail, which loops close to the monument.Connie is an excellent host. She was easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. It's evident how much she enjoys sharing their property with other families!"
