Carness Lodge is a perfect couple’s glamping base for exploring the Scottish Highlands, set amidst Scotland’s most breathtaking scenery, enjoying stunning views over Loch Leven, towards the rugged mountains of Glencoe.. 1 step to entrance.

Carness Lodge, set on the owner’s croft, is a lovely pine glamping lodge built to high specification, with stunning views over Loch Leven, towards the rugged mountains of Glencoe and is ideal for a self catering break away from it all. It’s the perfect space for a couple to unwind, with underfloor heating to keep you cosy in winter. The comfy sofa-bed easily converts into a double bed with kingsize memory foam mattress. There is a basic kitchen, so that you can self-cater in a simple fashion. Outside, you can appreciate the stunning views on the surrounding patio area with rattan furniture or walk through the field down to the water’s edge.
Carness Lodge is set in North Ballachulish, directly across the water from its sister village, Ballachulish, now joined by a bridge, but in the past connected via a ferry. The ferry slipway still remains and is a lovely walk. As well as exceptional scenery, North Ballachulish offers hotels serving food, bars, an art gallery, garage with small shop. Ballachulish, across the water, is just about 3 miles’ walk from the lodge, has a small supermarket, tourist information with coffee shop and a bar/restaurant. Glencoe, close-by, is a lovely highland village with many amenities including a minimarket, café, hotel, pub, church and dentists and there are some fabulous restaurants, cafés and pubs nearby, all serving good, local food.
Steeped in history, Glencoe is surrounded by the most breath-taking scenery of mountains and lochs and offers a large range of sports and outdoor activities, including winter sports, hill walking, climbing, mountaineering, fishing and water sports, mountain biking and golfing. Carness Lodge is conveniently located, lying between Fort William and Ben Nevis in the Lochaber area, 16 miles, known as the ’Outdoor Capital of the UK’, and the popular town of Oban, the ‘Seafood Capital of Scotland’ and ‘Gateway to the Isles’, 33 miles. Beach 1 mile.
Carness Lodge (UK1539) can be booked together with Callart Lodge (UK1538) to accommodate up to 4 guests.
