"Detailed and thorough check-in instructions. Very clean and beautiful home with great outdoor space to relax by the water. There was fresh baked cookies upon check-in which was a nice touch. Spacious dock made for easy access in/out of scalloping as well as cleaning station right on the dock. Trevor was very kind and responsive. Highly recommend!"

"Beautiful place and in a great location. We were there for a fly fishing trip and our captain was able to pick us up right from the dock. It’s not too far from downtown crystal river where all the lovely restaurants and shops are. Overall a very charming, quiet place with excellent sunset views. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip"

"I can't say enough about this unique property. Clean, gorgeous views, and fully stocked for a cook. The owners were wonderful about communicating and allowing us access. We loved the location - easy access to great paddling, hiking and peace and quiet. We are already planning our return trip and have shared this incredible gem with several friends... thank you Richard and Denne for making my birthday escape so special."

"Great place! Remote and private yet close enough to local attractions and a beach on the Gulf is just a few miles up the road. The dolphins in the canal, and other aquatic life, made the stay very enjoyable. The screened in porch created great ambiance at any time of day. It was especially enjoyable at dawn and through the night a great place to watch thunderstorms roll in. We used the canoe and were able to do some productive fishing at dawn. Hosts are quick to respond and have great suggestions for the area."
Quiet Canal Front Home With Access To The Gulf

"This was one of the most thoughtfully appointed and exceptionally well-stocked VRBOs we’ve ever stayed in, with a host whose attention to detail shows in every corner. The home smelled fresh and clean from the moment we walked in.The exterior is simple and unassuming, but the interior is immaculate with quality linens, newer furniture, and a fresh, well-maintained feel—unlike many rentals that show wear.As a mom of three who is very particular about cleanliness, I noticed immediately that this home was truly spotless and genuinely well cared for—not just surface-tidy.While not large, every inch is used intentionally; sturdy, comfortable furniture and a thoughtful layout suggest either a professional designer or a very skilled host maximizing space.The bathrooms felt like a boutique hotel with plush towels and great-smelling amenities, and the kitchen featured upgraded appliances and a well-stocked, clearly organized coffee bar. Beds were comfortable, A/C worked perfectly, and everything functioned as it should.Neighbors described the owners as a “class act,” and while we don’t know them personally, the care and quality throughout the home make that easy to believe."

"All comments about host, home, and location are accurate. This is a VERY quiet, comfortable, laid back vacation spot. My comments are ONLY focused on the dock and water access.Bring the boat. That is my only useful comment. I did a bit of homework on the tides and water depths at the dock and in the canal; I was a bit concerned before we booked.Our 22' center console with 200 hp yamaha draws 24" to the skeg. We do some fishing/boating in fresh water, some in salt; so we tend to pay more attention to how close we are to bottom than some, I guess.As one guest points out: you will be high and dry at low tide, regardless of boat/hull. Otherwise, we were easily able to get in and out at other times. First day we got into the Crystal River on the trolling motor out of caution. After that, just run the big engine.At high tide there's about 3 feet under the keel once you're out of the little canal; you have about 2 feet in the canal.On falling or rising tides, you'll lose those 2-3 feet very slowly (of course). If you're sensitive about it (as I was); time your stay to catch the low tide at night if possible; otherwise, don't sweat it too much.If you're looking for more than 12 hours on the water each day, you may want to look for a location with a deep water dock. For most people, 6-8 hours on the water is a FULL BAKE; it is for us, including fishing/scalloping/swimming in the springs."
