I had a very comfortable stay in my spacious ensuite room. It was clean and well furnished. The owner of the guest house was lovely and gave me a warm welcome. I would definitely visit again soon.

Great inn / very clean / highly recommend!
This is a very nice inn, close to the train station. My wife and I stayed here only one night; the proprietors were very kind and directed us to a British pub for dinner which was wonderful. The next day we hiked along the cliffs to Dover, enjoying the amazing scenery. Highly recommend!

Very clean comfortable family room on ground floor which was perfect as one in the party had mobility issues. Friendly hosts . Perfect for train station.

Horrible awful place to stay
The owners are awful people . There was an issue with the payment and they were charged in my room and force me to leave .. Awful awful people .. villagers … I never seen anything like this in my life.. the place was filthy.., behind the radiator was good ,socks ,use condoms ,absolutely disgusting place… I will not recommend to anyone staying there..

Our policy is "Dont pay you dont stay". You booked online but payment was declined from the bank for "insuffient funds". We asked you for payment but you said you didnt have it. We told you to leave. After 10 minutes I knocked on the door and told you to leave. You were unpacking and being very pleasant saying you would have the money a day or two after. I said that was not good enough and you were to leave. In the last 18 months we have been open for 5 of them and we are not a charity. We have bills to pay and also need to eat. To anyone reading this there were no used condoms in the room, socks or otherwise. All our guests have said that we are nice people, but I have to say all these people have paid!! I dont understand the "villagers" as we are from London. Anyone reading this check our previous reviews. This person just did not want to pay.

Lovely clean room. Host was very welcoming and the accommodation is in a great location easy walking distance to the town centre and also close to the Leas coastal path.

Great Place & host!!
My stay was very pleasant and Shelly the host came downstairs to greet me. She was very helpful and friendly. She directed me to a great pub (British Lion) in walking distance, which had good food and friendly service.

Thank you so much for the 10/10. We always like to give our guests a good greeting but we are particularly aware of any females travelling alone, and therefore like you to feel safe. The British Lion is a great place for lone females as the owners and users of the pub are very friendly and kind. I hope you find your forever home soon. Happy hunting.

Great location to walk around Folkstone town, close enough to be walking distance but far enough away to avoid the noise of the town late nights. Has some off street parking and for me safe motorcycle parking was provided within the garden which was great. Nice rooms with facilities you'd expect.

The hosts were nice and helpful, breakfast was good, and the room was clean. The parking is can be tricky and the intersection can be loud, but that's not something the hosts can control.

Quick Stop Before Channel Crossing.
Only a very quick stay for us as we got in late and departed very early and missed breakfast, so I can't comment on the food. The owners were both incredibly welcoming and even called a local pub on Thursday night to check if they could keep the kitchen open for a few extra minutes whilst we walked there (The British Lion.) The building is a relatively old one, hence no lift as far as I knew which is fine for us, but people with mobility problems should mention on booking. Our dog was also made to feel very welcome. From the limited contact we had, I got the impression that the owners would go the extra mile and do their best for customers. Again, for one short night I didn't check and don't believe there was aircon and it wasn't really necessary on our night. When we next head toward Dover for a channel crossing, we'd be more than happy to stay again. It makes a big difference when you are made to feel welcome by the hosts. Perhaps we take an extra night to spend a bit more time to see Folkstone?

Beautiful building. I visited during renovation so the inside could have looked better but I could see the beauty of the building despite that.

Thank you for your review. It is a beautiful building and built in 1882 for the Earl of Radnor. I am sorry that you came during redecoration. These old buildings uncover all sorts of problems when you start redecorating. However the hallway is three floors high (72 square metres) and it has to be done floor by floor. We only have a window from 10am when guests have left to 3.30pm (before 4pm) to clear up before guests arrive. It would be lovely for you to come in the future to see the final result, chandeliers and all. Thank you again for your review.

Convenient location with limited on site parking available. Fine for a short stay. Spacious room with small ensuite. Breakfast available at an additional £7.50 which seemed quite a bit considering the cost of the room.

Thank you for your review. Breakfast in this area is an average of £7.50 to £10. Unfortunately as you are anonymous and I do not have a date when stayed I cannot see what price you paid. We have 9 rooms and 7 parking spaces. We are the only B&B in this area which has parking all other establishments in the area have restricted off street parking, i.e. between 9am and 6pm 2 hour stay. A quarter of our guests arrive by train as theh station is only 200 metres away

We used the Sunny Lodge Hotel as an overnight stay before getting an early eurotunnel train the next morning- the B&B was fit for this purpose. On street/site parking was provided, the Staff were incredibly helpful, approachable and friendly. The place itself is clean & presentable but not somewhere we’d like to stay for any length of time. The en-suite bathroom is minuscule. It was value for money

A warm welcome
A nice little guest house with a warm welcome. The beds were comfy and the room was spacious and clean. The TV had a line across it though so needs replacing and the property itself needs some investment. On the whole a nice place to overnight before catching the tunnel which is about 15 minutes away.

Booked last minute for an overnight stay with work, was very pleasantly surprised on arrival at the Sunny Lodge. The hosts were fantastic and made me feel very welcoming. My room was large, clean and the bed was comfy.. Will definitely stay again...

Generally good.
Stayed for a single night due to getting an early Eurostar - perfectly placed for this at around 15 minutes from the terminal. If you want somewhere that’s well placed and clean then this is a great option. Owners are lovely and very friendly also. Personally I found the room too noisy (traffic and a (presumably) guest ringing the door bell three times after 11.10 at night sadly) and bright (no black out curtains) at night so won’t be staying again but I am a pretty light sleeper unfortunately. Location is also great for a variety of restaurants just five minutes walk away.

We are glad you found us friendly. Sorry about the door bell. We do normally turn it off to the house and we can only hear it in the basement but on this occasion we must have been late doing that. I will look into the fact that the curtains were not black out ones and perhaps think about changing them. Thank you for your review.
