Can May Vell is a beautiful, secluded village house located on the outskirts of the small town of Foixà, surrounded by 6,000 m² of holm oaks, pines, grapevines, and olive trees, in a typically Mediterranean setting.
The original building dates back to the 17th century. It has since been renovated and expanded, preserving its original character while creating new living spaces. Designed to be enjoyed year-round, it features a large garden with lawns, a natural woodland, olive trees, cypresses, a pool with breathtaking views of the landscape and the sea on the horizon, as well as a porch and outdoor chill-out areas that invite relaxation and long conversations and gatherings in good company. The interior of the house combines tradition and simplicity with comfort and modernity. All rooms, including all bedrooms, have air conditioning and a heat pump. On the ground floor, a foyer welcomes us, leading to the living room—featuring a fireplace designed by the Catalan architect and designer Coderch—a dining room with an early 20th-century chandelier, and a practical half-bath with stone walls. The views from the living room are spectacular and invite you to spend long hours enjoying the landscape and the sea. This floor also features a small apartment that includes a bedroom with a full private bathroom, a sitting area with a TV, a library, a fireplace, and access to the outdoors.

The ground floor houses four of the house’s six bedrooms, all of which face outward and have en-suite bathrooms, except for one that shares a bathroom with the only bedroom on the second floor. There is also a small terrace with a long stone bench offering a panoramic view stretching from L'Escala to Begur, with a glimpse of the San Sebastián lighthouse. A dreamlike spot to enjoy starry nights.
The sixth double bedroom, with exceptional views, is located in the tower on the second floor.
Can May Vell is a place that exudes peace and tranquility, far from the noise and hustle and bustle, yet strategically located for exploring the Empordà, just a 20-minute drive from its incredible coves and beaches. From the house, you can enjoy pleasant walks, bike rides, and visits to the area’s historical, culinary, and artistic attractions.

Guests also have the opportunity to participate in wine and olive oil tastings led by a renowned local sommelier, as well as painting sessions organised by a well-known painter from Girona, among other activities.
