"I’ve loved The Cliff House at Pikes Peak for many years. My grandmother helped save it from demolition in the 1990s, so it holds deep personal and family significance. The staff remains professional and welcoming, but the hotel’s upkeep no longer reflects its four-star rates. The décor screams “late‑90s luxury,” yet the everyday furnishings show visible wear and tear, starting to look shabby, not chic. This last trip was for my grandmother’s funeral, and we couldn’t even hold our traditional family brunch at the hotel. The buffet is gone, and with à la carte pricing over $20 per entrée, it became cost-prohibitive. It was painful to see a place that has been central to our family and the community in such decline. The Cliff House is more than a hotel — it’s part of Manitou Springs’ heritage. Given its history and role in the community, it deserves reinvestment so it can continue to welcome families and honor its legacy for generations."
