What is Florida like for travellers on a budget?

You can browse a variety of hotels and other accommodation options with Member Prices to find great deals and earn rewards. With our site's convenient page filters, you can search by your price range, or by top amenities like free breakfast and free airport transport. If you want to see affordable options close to certain local attractions, the location filters will narrow down your search. As you browse, use the heart button to save your favourites so that you can come back to them when you're ready to book. Need a flight or a car for your trip? When is the best time for a budget trip to Florida?
Weather is probably a major factor when you plan your trip to Florida, but bear in mind that cheaper options are usually available when the weather isn't as good. The hottest months are usually September and August, with an average temperature of 27°C, while the coldest months are March and January, with an average of 24°C. Average annual precipitation for Florida is 1339 mm.
What is there to see and do in Florida?
You won't have to spend a fortune to find things to see and do in Florida. You can budget for the top local attractions that interest you most, such as El Yunque National Forest, and then look for sights and activities that cost little or nothing at all. Enjoy the outdoors at Jardin Botanico y Cultural de Caguas and Humacao Nature Reserve, or check out the area's cultural spots like Luis Munoz Marin Foundation.
How can I get to Florida and get around on a budget?
Looking at these ways to get around Florida is a smart way to keep your trip affordable. The nearest airport is 17.9 mi (28.8 km) away from the centre in San Juan (SJU-Luis Munoz Marin Intl.). If that doesn't suit your budget, you can book a flight to Vieques (VQS-Antonio Rivera Rodriguez), located 30.1 mi (48.5 km) away. Florida might not have many public transport options so renting a car could be an economical alternative to see more of the area.
