The Abiquiu Inn
8/10 Good
"This is really the only game in town in Abiquiu. And I think that's their attitude. We waited at least 10 minutes to check in while the attendant tried to ring up a sale from the gift shop. (Did not succeed.) And when checking out two employees had an in-depth conversation for at least as long while I stood there. They saw me and continued talking which was weird. Our room looked clean, but there were some dead bugs on the floor. The floor is mainly tiled, but there is carpet in some areas and it appeared very stained and dirty. The biggest disappointment was the Cafe. Yikes. The meh food was only superseded by the poor service. Ignore anything favorable you read about the Trout. But if you chance it, remind them it comes with a baked potato and not french fries. If there is any option besides the charred, shriveled vegetables take it. And simply avoid the chicken tacos which appeared to be leftover chicken (no seasoning at all) dropped in teeny tortillas and covered with cheese. Just awful. Waitress brought apps and entrees out at once, forgot our drinks and still charged us for them. Disappeared for long stretches so that other staff had to step in. Got to Bodes and get take out. It is gourmet compared to this place."
Abiquiu Lake Retreat-
Beautiful views, full kitchen, WiFi ,family friendly home
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great stay! The home was so comfortable and spotless - very clean. Gay had many little touches that made us feel welcome. Gay was easily reachable and responsive and gave great directions and information about the house. The firepit on the deck was easy to use and we enjoyed sitting out at dusk watching the prairie dogs and rabbits. The sunsets were gorgeous and the starlit sky was amazing. The home is very well stocked. The beds were comfortable and there are beautiful artistic touches throughout the home reflecting the area. The location is very quiet but not far from the Rio Chama recreation area for hiking and Georgia O'Keefe's Ghost Ranch and a local lavender farm. Abiquiu Lake is very beautiful. The location is also within an hour to hour and a half drive to Taos, Bandelier National Monument, Los Alamos and Santa Fe. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Northern New Mexico."
"The host was beyond accommodating. Very nice guy and made sure our visit was th best. I'm an astrophotographer so I booked the house because of the night sky. My pictures are amazing, I can't get any where near the detail from my Phoenix suburban home."
"Our stay was comforting to us all. We had a relaxing time by a cozy fire in the evenings. We had rainy weather but it did not stop us as we hung out under patio taking in the mountain fresh air. Incredible views of the mountain peaks all around us. Great memories!!! "
Una Casita Tranquila-Surrounded by Stunning Mountain Views!
10/10 Excellent
"This is by far one of the best properties I have stayed at! The house was absolutely beautiful with so much thoughtfulness going into the items we might need during our stay; there were even binoculars for us to use! The grounds were so peaceful and quiet with plenty of space to spread out. The pictures on the website do not do it justice, if you're considering this property, BOOK IT...you will not be disappointed. Amber was very responsive every time I reached out to her and her father even came to look for us when we thought we were lost. "
