• For just a few minutes, you'll have to unplug from technology. Your laptop, phone and any other electronic devices also need to be sent through the scanner.
• Travelling with your favourite perfume or cologne? As long as it's in a container no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and it's stored in a zip-close bag, you can bring it with you in your carry-on luggage.
• The right choice of footwear can save you several valuable minutes. Hiking or heavy-style boots are often required to be removed and separately scanned. Slip-on sneakers are usually not.
