Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Midgard could be simple and straightforward or it could drag on forever. We've put together some handy travel tips that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:

• Flying can be a great experience if you carry the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good read. What to wear on a flight:

• The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and choose shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to pull on and off.
• Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.

• Your travel ID and boarding pass will need to be inspected by airport security. Keep them within easy reach so you don't have to dig around for them.
