We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a blast in La Bathie before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a stress-free experience if you pack the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and choose shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
