If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be daunting. But there's no need to worry. Follow these helpful hints and enjoy a comfortable start to your getaway in Hawks Nest. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, your important medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by dressing in layers, and wear flat, enclosed shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
