• You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your lower limbs often.

• It's also possible you'll need to remove your shoes for scanning, so wearing slip-on shoes is always a good idea.
• Sharp or pointed items are not allowed in the cabin. They'll be confiscated at security, so pack them in your checked suitcase.
