Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of top travel tips that will get your Curel holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by donning layers, and pick flat, closed-toe footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
