Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Cuers holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a pain-free flight experience is to pack ahead. Start with the essentials: passport, boarding pass, cash and important medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help while away those hours, like some electronic devices or a juicy novel. You'll also want to bring your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. Last but not least, don't forget to squeeze in toiletries like a toothbrush, lip balm and a clean T-shirt.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between airlines, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes tools, metal cutlery, spray paint and fireworks. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could injure passengers, such as swords and batons, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by wearing layers, and pick flat, enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
