We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and having a blast in Chilwell in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and go for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
