We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as enjoyable as possible. Follow our top tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and seeing the best of Bartlett before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack in your passport, official ID, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a laptop filled with your favourite shows are some fantastic options. If you hope to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll hop off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and opt for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
