  • The Salty Cribb is a newly renovated and professionally designed holiday home, with private beach and views of picturesque, Lunenburg. Located on a peninsula, with a handful of homes and idyllic local church, a walk away from The Ovens provincial park. Just minutes from pubs, restaurants, tourist attractions, beaches and shops, The Salty Cribb features three bedrooms, appointed with one queen, one double and two twin beds. Each with its own fireplace. An eat in kitchen with marble island, separate dining room, front deck, cozy living room and water views. The rear lot includes an enchanted forest for afternoon exploration by the young at heart. It’s the perfect place to enjoy all that beautiful South Shore Nova Scotia has to offer.

Amazing place with incredible view.

This place was incredible. Lovely decor, unbelievable views from almost every window, and right on the water! It's close to great swimming beaches, and we enjoyed checking out "The Ovens", Rose Bay General Store, and Hirtles Beach! Some wonderful meals in Lunenberg (the Beach Pea was awesome!) and Mahone Bay (Oh my Cod!). An amazing family vacation with lots to see and do in the area.

Perfect near Lunenburg

Well maintained house with 3 bedrooms fire pit and wonderful view. Peaceful, master bedroom overlooks water. One full bath so if you have >4 people could be tight but we were 3. Detailed communication from property owners without being overbearing. 10-15 minute drive to Lunenburg. Would definitely stay here again (near my sister in laws summer house).

Beautiful Views and Decor

There are so many positives about our stay at The Salty Cribb. First, the communication was excellent. This included very detailed recommendations and information about the area; which made our stay that much more enjoyable. Second, the views were beautiful. We saw seals and porpoises right from the beach out front, had a family rock skipping competition at sunrise, and loved hiking in the area. The house is close to areas like Lunenburg and LaHave which we enjoyed exploring and dining at. The property is so incredibly comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. The house is very warm without A/C, but this is easily overcome with the abundance of windows that open so you can go to sleep to the sound of waves at night. All around, we had a perfect stay here.

This place was amazing. You could tell that every detail of the house was carefully thought out, and strategically placed. The house was well put together, beautifully decorated and kept the charm that represents Nova Scotia. Beds were very comfortable and the house was clean and had everything you needed. The beach was incredible, and access was right out the front door. Kids (and adults) spent hours looking for sea glass, and exploring the area. General store nice and close and surrounding small towns were easily accessible. Quiet, safe and you can't get over the view of ocean (especially from the master bedroom). I will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family and might even venture back at some point in the future. Communication with hosts was great (even sent an email to check in halfway through the visit). Highly recommend.

Great place to stay in Nova Scotia

My friend and I booked this place for a week to attend a writing retreat. It is in a lovely spot and the master has gorgeous views of the bay. The house is nicely appointed and we had everything we needed. It does not have AC. Given that it is coastal and highs 70-80’s, I didn’t think it would be needed. I did not account for humidity and it was rather hot, especially upstairs. It is about a 20-25 min drive to lunenberg so you need to plan your shopping. I loved the beachy feel and great views. It is on a pretty quiet road and running in the am was also a plus. I would have preferred a coffee maker to a press but we survived. Would have given 5 stars but it was not as clean as it should have been. The bedding in the spare bedroom did not smell clean (maybe because it was not a duvet cover it could not be easily washed? But it needed it). Sand on the carpet and the backsplash was dirty. I’m not trying to be picky, I’m generally pretty casual but it’s a pricey cleaning fee. Although this house could sleep 5-6 easily the bathroom would be a limiting factor. It was fine for the 2 of us. We did not take advantage of the outdoor fire pit but it looked lovely. Overall a great stay! Fantastic area! Stunning really.

We had an amazing time at The Salty Cribb. Perfect location with stunning views, and numerous side quest opportunities within a short, and often scenic, drive. The home was exactly as advertised, well-stocked and furnished with everything we needed, and the hosts we're very responsive to our questions. Highly recommended.

Lovely coastal escape

Beautiful little house overlooking the bay in South Feltzen. Ideal location for exploring the hamlets and towns near Lunenberg. The owners took care to provide all the necessities in a comfortable, charming atmosphere. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful respite. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was heavenly.

Lovely family vacation

The house was perfect in every single way. We got very detailed instructions from the owners, before our arrival, so the check in was smooth. We had our 2 years old toddler with us and there was a pack and play and highchair ready for our arrival. Very convenient location, close to Lunenburg, beautiful town that we enjoyed very much.

Comfortable home with beautiful water views

The home was exactly as pictured and described. Lovely home on quiet road with great water views from porch and rooms. The kitchen, bathrooms, and linens were all very clean. However, housekeeping needs to pay closer attention to details (e.g., dirty interior doorway jams, cobwebs on porch). The mattresses need to be rotated or replaced (as sagging a bit on edge where people sit). The host’s email about arrival was informative - but failed to mention that the bridge that led to the home was closed for construction (no mention of it on web-site). Luckily one of our cell phones was still able to get a signal and we found the detours and other roads would eventually get us to the home. (The neighbor told us the bridge has been closed for a year). Even though that was disappointing, as we had wanted to be within a shorter drive into Lunenburg - we still enjoyed our relaxing stay at this home.

GOOD CHOICE

The accommodation is very pleasant - up to date, clean, well maintained, nicely decorated, all the comforts of home. The large array of windows in the living area and the master bedroom provide a panoramic view of the water. A piece of heaven!

Our family of four stayed here at this beautiful piece of heaven through the end of December 2021 and beginning of January 2022. It was exactly what we all needed after a stressful few years. We could hear the waves crashing night and day and would often wander out for a beautiful beach walk (directly across the road) which would serve to renew us even more each time. The place itself is gorgeous: beautifully designed, clean, spacious and airy. The hosts are receptive, communicative and have thought of special extras. We hope to be able to return in the summer as I can't even imagine how beautiful it is at that time of year!

A sweet spot by the sea

Drinking my coffee on the deck as seals swim past, kayaking within metres of porpoises within view of the house in the kayaks supplied by the house, seafood bakes in the garden with water and lobster pulled right from the sea, enjoying a glass of wine on the worlds most comfortable couch and watching the sun go down out the massive windows- this was a great spot and a great break - well worth the price of admission

A Magical Place!

Melissa and Rob’s cottage was pure magic. We woke every morning to a stunning sunrise over the bay and some days to seals bopping their heads about. The home was cozy, welcoming and we didn’t want to leave! Melissa has thought of everything. Also, the proximity to the most beautiful spots the south shore has to offer is also incredible. We can’t wait to return!
