The house layout is so cool. There is an Independant apartment with all the amenities where we had two big families stay for almost a week. We had our own space when we wanted to relax as well as big rooms for us to enjoy together. Beautiful property with a gorgeous view. The fire place in the middle of the room was a huge hit for the entire group. Pool table was used non-stop.
The house has great views that pictures don’t do justice. We also saw a moose the first morning we woke up. Very quiet and remote and would stay again if in the area.

Spectacular
Wonderful stay. Prompt and attentive property manager. House is as advertised and perfect for a long weekend getaway in the mountains. Beautiful trails to explore - and only minutes from Alma and Fairplay, which both have necessities.

Colorado Family Trip 2024
Our first family vacation in Colorado was fabulous. The cabin provided everything we needed, and we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks for allowing us to be your guest.
This was an amazing stay, with an even more amazing outcome. We stayed at the lodge for my 30th Birthday, but I also came out of the trip as an engaged man. The upper deck was the perfect place for my proposal with the mountain scenery in the background. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Even better than advertised.

Beautiful, well-kept property with amazing views!
We had an amazing time at The Lodge at Flamingo Acres! We were amazed at how well furnished everything was, especially the kitchen. The views are incredible and amenities like the pool table, hot tub and dart board were a lot of fun. Honestly I can't think of a negative thing to say. Any 1-star reviews you read must be talking about a different place; this lodge is amazing!
This house was truly beautiful inside and out. The views from the balcony were spectacular. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable time we spent there with the family. Everything worked as it should and it was all in great condition. Loved the fun amenities like the pool table and hot tub. I would definitely go back.
We enjoyed our stay at this nice quiet property. Lots of room to spread out but, also nice areas to come together. Visited a lot of surrounding towns. Property management responded promptly to small issues that came up. Some of the furniture and towels could use updating. If had the opportunity would stay again.
A group of friends and I stayed in this cabin for 4 nights and had a great time. The location is remote and quiet, very little light or noise pollution. Easy to get to with Google Maps, just make sure your car is even marginally capable of driving on rough roads for summer months. Our AWD Toyota Sienna made it without any issues, so it isn’t crazy by any means. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would stay again.
We gathered from four different parts of the country to celebrate a milestone birthday. The location and view were spectacular and the property had a lot to offer. The owner quickly responded to any concerns we had. Check in and communication beforehand was very efficient. There are a few things that need to be updated in the cabin such as towels and some of the cookware, but overall you won’t be disappointed renting this cabin.

Sky High
Beautiful 'cabin' mansion in the mountains. The view was incrediable! The cabin was awesome. The lighting is a little tricky. Some switches were hard to find. It took a little getting used to the high altitude, we are from 550' and going to over 10,000' where there is thin air was an experience. We would have liked more snow, but no one can control mother nature.
Loved the overall house, tons of space and very quiet. Hot tub was not great from a water quality stand point and jets didnt seem to work, chose not to use the hot tub.
We really enjoyed the house. The only issue was not all outside lights worked on the deck. We knew we were in high altitude but was not aware at how bad it would really effect you. But the house itself was great. They even cleaned the driveway within reasonable time of snow.
Where are we going…that might be what you’re thinking as Google takes you off on a gravel road up in the mountains! But then you turn into the driveway and in front of you just around the trees is this exquisite cabin! The views from the balcony of 14,000 foot mountains is the BEST way to start your morning with coffee. This beautiful home has everything you need and will exceed your expectations. All it needs is you and your friends and family to fill it! Definitely a place we will return and rebook.
We very much enjoyed our family vacation to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday in this beautiful location. Having the 2 cabins together was ideal for our son and his new wife to have their own space yet gather together for meals and family time.
We were close by all of the mountains we hoped to climb. With binoculars I could see my family at the top of Mount Democrat from the cabin. Sure they were tiny pixels, but I could see all 5 of them up there.
We were blessed to see a bear near the cabin as it ran across the road and a moose grazing in the nearby marsh. We also enjoyed worship at The Stone Church Gathering in Alma.
Thank you to our host for such a great place to spend 10 days!

A Spacious Home on Beautiful Property
Overall, my guests and I had an amazing experience at the lodge. There was plenty of room for 7 people and it has basically everything you would need to have a comfortable stay. The views are incredible looking out over the deck to Mt. Bross, Mt. Democrat, and Mt. Buckskin among others. The pool table was one of the highlights of our stay, but the pool cues could use some maintenance. The cabin stays very warm in the winter, especially when using the central fireplace. The hot tub was great, but it felt a little small with more than 2 people in it. There were a few minor issues we had, like the indoor speaker system being disabled, the bed pillows not having much cushion, and the dart board being plastic and difficult to use. The woods around the lodge are beautiful but it isn't clear where the property lines are so we didn't venture too far in the snow. I would definitely come back here, but I also think some small upgrades would go a long way to making this place perfect.
Our stay at the cabin was truly unforgettable! The property boasts breathtaking views and provides the perfect setting for a relaxing family getaway. It's ideal for anyone looking to recharge away from the hustle and bustle. While we thoroughly enjoyed our time, there were a few maintenance issues that could be addressed. Some of the light bulbs were out in the kitchen and master bedroom, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, there seemed to be a transition happening with the televisions; most had been removed, and we had to improvise with the cords from the small cabin to get one set up in the main area. This wasn't reflected in the listing photos, so it was a bit unexpected. One other minor issue was with the grill. Unfortunately, it didn't light up, possibly due to the cold weather affecting the gas pressure. It might be worth considering storing it in a warmer spot for future guests.Despite these small issues, I would still highly recommend this cabin for its stunning location and peaceful atmosphere. It's a perfect retreat for families or anyone seeking solitude amidst nature.
My family wanted to see snow for our yearly family vacation. I knew our chances of seeing snow were greater with a higher altitude. This location did not disappoint. We visited from December 7th thru 13th. The drive to the home was breathtaking (not just because of the altitude). The snow had everything covered and was exactly what my little girl wanted. The road was long and winding. 4wd or equivalent was necessary. I also suggest arriving during daylight hours. Because of the snow, the driveways and ditches are hard to identify. The home is secluded in the woods with plenty of yard space to play in the snow. Entry was a breeze with great instructions from the host. The lodge is three stories. We are from Mississippi so climbing the stairs to the main bedroom on the 3rd floor was hard for me. I decided to sleep on the bottom floor. I personally thought these rooms were warmer too. The second floor did not disappoint with the huge picture windows. I sat in the living room and stared at the mountains for most of our down time. The fireplace was very interesting. We bought wood from the local grocery store in Fairplay. The fire did a great job keeping this level comfortable. The host left plenty of games in the closet for family time. We mostly played pool. This was my daughters first encounter with a pool table and she caught on quickly. The cabin was perfect. Although the views were better from the lodge, the cabin is cozier. We did not stay in the cabin. Perfect vaca.
I will start by saying that the cabin is beautiful until you get inside.
There were hot wires laying on the floor and coming out of the walls. Not very ideal with kiddos in the house......
It was -22 outside and they kept turning the thermostat down to 67 at nighttime. We woke up freezing every morning. Kept messaging the host every morning and never got it resolved.
The beds are as hard as a rock. There also aren't any tvs in the rooms other than the main living room. There are wires sticking out where the tvs should be though.
The beds are as hard as a rock. Worst beds I have ever slept on.
Also be prepared that there are no blinds on any of the windows, so you get woken up right as the sun comes up in the morning, especially if your a light sleeper.
The cabin was absolutely disgusting. No clean blankets that were just thrown in the floor in the lower level closest. The appliances were filthy.
Also should be a warning of how high of elevation that the cabin was at. Everyone was so sick due to being at such high elevation. If you've never been to Colorado you would never know or even think about that!
They couldn't even leave firewood for the fire.
Wouldn't stay here for the amount of money we paid.
