About this property
Just Renovated! Cozy Cabin backed by Aspens, Pet Friendly / Family Friendly - Aspen Acres
Aspen Acres is an adorable cabin nestled in the woods south of Breckenridge in Park County. The location is perfect for skiing and boarding in Breckenridge, ATV-ing, hiking, or just relaxing and enjoying the peaceful solitude. The great room and kitchen were just renovated in early 2023!
The home has 2 bedrooms and one bath. The master bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has a Queen Bed with a set of bunk beds.. There is a bath with a shower/tub combo. The bath also has a washer and a dryer. There are two family rooms. The upstairs has two comfortable sofas and a television with satellite programming as well as a DVD player, so bring along your favorite movies. The main floor has a cozy wood stove that adds to the charm of the home and seating area to relax and chat. The floor to ceiling windows give you a fantastic view of the mountains.. The kitchen is well equipped with all dishes, utensils, and pots and pans. You will have everything you need. There is a dining table for 6 and extra room at the counter if needed.
The home has a large deck on the back of the house with great views. In the summer and fall months, there is a picnic area with table and lounging chairs nestled in the aspens. As a bonus, there is a shed that can be used for guest storage (e.g. skis, etc.)
Breckenridge is only 25 miles from the home. Other Aspen Acres ski venues (Copper Mtn., Keystone, Vail, Monarch, Ski Cooper) are roughly 40 miles from the home. Other winter activities nearby include cross country skiing, snowmobiling. During the summer, there's white water rafting, hiking, ATV trails, biking, fishing, hunting, and camping. You can relax and just enjoy the natural beauty or head out to the nearby towns/resorts/parks, and enjoy the unlimited winter and summer activities the area has to offer. In the summer you will be in the center of all activities including old mine ruins, Montgomery Reservoir, Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Bross, Mt. Quandry and many more. Fairplay (just 5 miles away) is the activity center of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and is often referred to as the Base Camp for all activities some of which include hiking, mountain climbing, horseback riding, ice climbing, fishing, hunting, rafting, 4-wheeling, ATVing, mine exploring, canoeing, kayaking, and much, much more. Alma is only 5 minutes away and offers dining, shopping, and entrances to some of the most beautiful drives in Colorado such as Kite Lake, Bristlecone Pines, and Mosquito Pass.
If you can think of an outdoor activity, you will probably find it within 10-20 minutes of the cabin. It is a great home to call your "Base Camp". * FISHING ... Gold Medal/Blue Ribbon Fishing. 5 area lakes and public river a short drive away * In Subdivision... Access to National Forest/ large lots for plenty of seclusion * Breckenridge ... ski, snowmobile, fish, ride, golf - 25 miles. NW * Buena Vista ... Hot Springs, fishing, raft the Arkansas River - 40 miles. SW * Salida ... fishing, hiking, jeeping, rafting - 55 miles. SW * Como Historic Railroad District - 14 miles. NW * Fairplay Historic Mining Town - 5 miles. NW * Denver ... shopping, theaters, sports, amusements parks -90 miles. NE * Cripple Creek ... gold mining, gambling - 65 miles. SE * Canon City ... home of the Royal Gorge - 75 miles SE * Manitou Springs ... Cave of the Winds, Pikes Peak - 80 miles SE
You will enjoy the flexibility of being able to explore all of the exciting areas in the heart of the Rockies by being in the center of all the activities. You will be able to enjoy a luxurious home but you won't have to put up with all of the traffic in Breckenridge and along I-70

The host was great and communicated with us through the whole vacation to make sure we were comfortable. They even sent my husband's watch back once we forgot it
Really appreciated all the little sitting areas to take in the area from a variety of vantage points. The property management staff was professional & easy to chat with - Had a great time!!!
Clean, convenient, great location to access surrounding areas. The loft at night was a great place to unwind after long days. Would definitely stay here again.
Exactly what we were hoping for. Remote location nestled in trees and nature but a short drive to town. The house had all the amenities we needed with a convenient layout and gorgeous views.

Lovely cabin
For a small family looking for a cabin with kitchen for quick meals (cereals, microwaved or toasted food) this is nice.
It worked well enough for my husband and I, but the kitchen is not kitted out for regularly daily cooked meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Aside from this (and the internet issue which was no one's fault and has since been resolved) we enjoyed our time here very much.
This was a perfect little getaway for my partner and I with our little golden doodle. It was clean, bright, quiet, and had marvelous views of the sunrise. The smell of the fall leaves and trees was enhanced by the light rains we received while there for the last day or so. Really appreciate the full ice trays when we arrived! Didn’t have the opportunity to use the wood burning stove but there was plenty of wood had we decided to do so.
The place was just what we were looking for in a getaway. It wasn’t far from a grocery store but far enough from the big cities and towns. The host was very communicative, the place is pet friendly but you can’t tell pets have ever stepped foot in the home. Very clean and the property is beautiful. The only little bit that was a miss to me was the bedding in the downstairs room. There was human hair on the pillows and stains on the bedding and while it looked clean, I’m a stickler for an extremely clean sleeping area. Still, everything was great and we’d love to stay here again! We happened to catch some northern lights views during a solar flare. You could see it with your own eyes too no phone needed! It was the most special experience. Breckenridge is about 30 minutes away and we visited quite often. Otto’s is in town and is so worth getting! I highly rec staying here if you’re looking for a quiet but outdoorsy trip. There are so many amazing trails nearby that my camera roll is now full. If you’re still looking to stay connected the cabin does have stable internet and a TV upstairs for movie nights.
Quiet, roomy, comfortable home. Was advertised as not having a dishwasher, so I was thrilled when we arrived, and it had one! We had a water leak in the bathroom the first day we were there that could have ruined the trip, or at least caused us some inconvenience...but we were thrilled to have a kind handy man come fix the problem immediately. We loved the quiet area and spotted deer, elk and even a moose in the neighborhood at the end of our 2nd day. A great experience, and we might have enjoyed the outdoor seating if the mosquitoes weren't so thick, and the grass had been trimmed some. It is a lovely home, and we needed a place to relax...and this was definitely it. Slept with the windows cracked each evening and it got wonderfully cool.
The cabin was clean, nice, and remote, yet only 3 miles from Highway 285 and 5 miles from Fairplay and Prather's grocery store. The online photos make the interior rooms look larger than they are but the size of the cabin was still perfect for the two of us. The air is very dry in Colorado! We had to go to the local Ace Hardware store and buy a humidifier so we could sleep better. Most of the windows do not have curtains so curtains would be a nice addition. We didn't want to rent a cabin up in the mountains because we were towing a side by side off road vehicle therefore we appreciated the level driveway. We enjoyed the open view of the plains, sunrises and sunsets, and the deer who visited us in the driveway on our second evening there!
Fabulous modern cabin, well furnished and equipped. Communication with property manager was excellent. Very quiet and peaceful, close to lots of great hikes. Would definitely stay again.
Such a nice relaxing stay!! We enjoyed our time :) close enough to everything but just far enough away !

Wonderful Place
What a terrific A-Frame/Cabin! The location was beautiful, especially the deck and back of the property. My wife and I will definitely go back in the future.
