"Super helpful staff...went to have a relaxing night of pupus and beer and James served us. We were the last to leave the restaurant but he was so kind not to chase us out of the restautant. He was so kind and pleasant and he always had a smile when he was speaking with us. Went to the front desk for help with restaurants and they printed out a map of nearby places. Checking out, Dahlia was so happy and friendly to assist me. For a single traveller, my room was just the right size for me. However, a room with two beds seemed to be on the smaller side. The atmosphere was very welcoming and warm. The location was perfect walking distance to Insadong, Gwanghwamun Square, The Palace, Hanbok Village, the subway and a lot of eateries. "
"Clean rooms and the staff were friendly and easily helped us with lending us an adapter for charging our electronics. We stayed for two nights with our 5-year-old. We saw other families around, so it seemed like a popular hotel with families, but we didn't find it noisy when we slept or headed out in the mornings. The only issue we had with the hotel was the heaviness of the sliding bathroom door. "
"My spouse and I lived in the neighborhood, down the street from this hotel, for two years before moving to the US. We recently came back to Korea to visit for the first time in a year and chose this hotel because it was familiar to us. Though we lived nearby, we never stayed with them, and I'm so happy that we made the choice to do so as we came back for a visit!
The staff was kind and understanding (especially when I wanted to use Coupang and needed to make sure I had the address correct!) and the facilities are clean and efficient. Housekeeping is quite serious about doing their job well and makes sure that you have all that you need to be comfortable. The hotel also has great facilities, such as a pool, gym, and a small laundry room. Though, one of my feedback critiques is that the laundry room is cash only and the change machine was broken when we were there, so we had to get change at 1 AM from the front desk 😅.
As someone who used to be local, I can tell you for sure that the location is amazing! Gongdeok is a great and modern-style station with touches of traditional restaurants (if you know where to look). If being able to access public transportation easily is what you seek in a place to stay, Lotte City Hotel Mapo is perfect for that too. It's nestled on Line 6 and Line 5, which is great for traveling to popular spots in Seoul. The bus stops outside the hotel are also convenient!
Lotte City Hotel Mapo is a wonderful option for anyone looking to stay in Seoul! "
