"Nice place, overall. Decent breakfast, clean room and the front desk was very helpful. The only downside is that it is billed as an airport hotel, but the hotel is by something like Miami Executive Airport, not MIA. That meant it was cheaper for base price, but the taxi fare was a bit unexpected. Still, if you don't mind being farther out, give it a try. "

"I wanted to wait before writing the review and honestly I wish I could rate it better - but I was left with a less than satisfactory opinion of Gilberts. The good - restaurant was very good, food we had was excellent and drinks were fairly priced for the Keys. The staff was very nice, especially Kevin and others we crossed paths with were great as well. The room was nicely sized and the bed was comfortable. The bad - there's a treatment plant at the end of the property that (depending on which way the breeze is blowing) - it stinks and is very noisy. It can make sitting outside the room impossible. The worst - the water pressure in our shower was the lowest I've ever experienced in 50+ years of travelling. I have walked through soaker hoses with more flow, it made getting rinsed - especially your hair, almost impossible."

"Had a really bad experience with the service this weekend for some reason but I called for towels and the trash and nobody never came with no new towels or to pick up the trash for hours so I had to dump my own trash and take my dirty towels to get new ones myself."
