The Neighborhood:
Additional information to align expectations: Lake Lucerne is a historic resort from the early 20th Century, which orignally included a golf course and an airstrip (now long gone). In the early days, the resort was a social center serving the vacationing elite. Over the years, much of the resort was divided up and sold. Today, Lake Lucerne is a historic snap-shot in time. There is no access for fishing, swimming, or boating at Lake Lucerne. The "lake" is a spring fed stream with a hand laid limestone dam. Some travelers have had expectations of a large reservoir and have commented that, in their opinion, it is more of a "pond". (We assume that the founders didn't like the sound of "Pond Lucerne", therefore, it has always been referred to as a Lake.) Over the years moss, and other aquatic plants, have grown in the shallow end of the "lake" , although, the deeper end near the dam has clear, open water. Please note that this is not a commercially groomed reservoir. Lake Lucerne is a natural Ozark stream with fish, plants, and moss. It is naturally beautiful, but it is not maintained like a "water feature" in a botanical garden. You will be staying on the South shore of the lake. Each of these 10 Cabins were a part of the original Lake Lucerne Resort. They are all individually owned. Each owner does their best to maintain the historic integrity of these small authentic log cabins. Be prepared for a narrow 1 lane road, although, it is easily navigable. We are in the Ozarks and the cabins are perched on a hill with sufficient room for a gravel road and a small driveway which will easily accommodate modern vehicles. There is sufficient space to safely drive to your cabin. The road includes a "turnaround" at the end, providing room for a 3 point turn. (We have NO space for trailers)
Other Things to Note:
Please Note: There is no access for fishing or swimming.
House Rules and Important Information:
- The gravel road to the cabin is not suitable for motorcycles and sports cars. We recommend an SUV or high clearance vehicle.
- There is a 2-person maximum

The property was amazing! So quiet and peaceful! It was the perfect place for me and my husband to spend a relaxing weekend! They had cute will geese that just hung around the lake that was so sweet! The fire pit on the porch was perfect! The view was amazing! Everything was great!
We had a wonderful time in Eureka Springs and this place was perfect. Location was perfect. Privacy of the hot tub was perfect. Couldn’t have been happier with our stay.
The history of "Lake" Lucerne was fascinating and should be made front and center of advertising IMO. Such a beautiful and relaxing moment in nature. The birds, the dense foliage and water was just the perfect balance.
We really enjoyed this property. Felt like home, with lots of custom design features. Very cozy, great views. No rental is perfect including this one, but they did a great job on this one.

This property was peaceful and quiet with views all the way around the cabin. The property was clean, well laid out and provided everything we needed for our stay. Very close to shopping and dining. The perfect place for our 30th anniversary get away.
Location was easily located, property was excellent in every respect. Relaxation, comfort, distance to town, amenities ( that hot tub!). Check, check, check and check!
We really enjoyed everything about our stay.
We loved the seclusion of the cabin especially after the busy day downtown. Property was very clean. Also no cob webs around which has to be a challenge in the woods.
The property was exactly as listed, but much bigger than it looked in the pictures. Lots of windows/light. Great views of the lake/fall foliage. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the gas fireplace. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. All the linens were freshly laundered. And, we were just a couple of miles from grocery/restaurants/etc. We’d definitely stay here again. (If you’re a glutton for punishment, work the Mayan jigsaw puzzle in the cabinet under the kitchen desk. It almost made us pull our hair out!)
Amazing people to book with! Will definitely be staying again! Took into consideration my special wants for our stay (our birthdays) and made our stay unique and special!
We enjoyed our stay so much! This is the coziest little cabin for two people. We had everything we needed. There are other cabins around, and the lake area in front of the cabin is a shared spot. But other than when other people were walking or fishing by the lake, it felt secluded. Especially the hot tub area, as long as you pull the curtain on one side, it’s very nice!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. It was the perfect place to relax and soak in the beauty of nature. While some folks were frustrated by the power outage, we actually appreciated the chance to unplug, disconnect, and just be grounded. The only downside was the mattress—it wasn’t the most comfortable—but overall, we’d definitely stay here again.
Absolutely perfect! The house was clean and well equipped with everything you could need. The outdoor hot tub was perfect for relaxing in the evening time. Awesome deck with hammock and all. Very convenient to town. We hated to leave lol.
nice quiet getaway. listing description was accurate.

Anniversary
For our anniversary we were planning on relaxing and fishing. The lake was the size of a pond and couldn’t see anything living in there. Not even a minnow.
My husband and I have been coming to Eureka Springs for years, and have stayed at a variety of places. This might be my favorite. The location gives you a beautiful wooded area at cute Lake Lucerne while being a quick drive to everything in town. The Lakeside Cottage is just that - right next to the lake. We enjoyed listening to the birds, frogs, water running over the spillway, and the occasional donkey braying up the hillside on the other side of the lake while out on the deck. There are other cabins around the lake, but this felt very private, and it is at the end of the road with its own driveway and easy turn around. It’s a cute cottage with 2 decks, outdoor dining, gas grill, couple of sitting areas, plus a two-person hot tub. The layout inside creatively makes use of all the space in a relatively compact cottage. There is tons of storage, comfortable living space for two people, and a kitchen that felt quite roomy. I didn’t realize it when I booked, but it even has a little powder room in addition to the main bathroom. It was easy to settle in, feel at home and relax. As we were leaving my husband said he would stay there again, and I agreed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to any couple looking for a quiet, peaceful rental when visiting Eureka Springs. (BTW, Lake Lucerne was beautiful during our stay. There has been a good amount of rain, so it was full, not mossy, and an amazing blue color.)
Quiet and remote which made for a peaceful getaway. No less than 5 mins from town to enjoy places to eat as well as to experience what Main St Eureka Springs had to offer. Place was clean, hot tub was enjoyable, exactly what we were looking for. Host was very responsive when I had questions as well. Thank you!
