We were so lucky to book this beautiful property for our week-long visit to Rocky Mountain National Park. Our group of six included grandparents, parents, kids, and the 3/2.5 house was a good fit for us. It is ideally located about a mile from the Beaver Meadow Visitor Center, eliminating the daily commute through Estes Park and leaving more time for hiking. The open floor plan and soaring ceilings make the house feel even larger than it is. The living and dining rooms have huge windows which offer great views of the mountains. making mealtime a real joy. The kitchen is large and airy and very well equipped, with plenty of dishes, glasses and silverware. We were surprised at all the spices and even sugar left for our use. The beds were good and there were plenty of towels. Some amenities, like the washer/dryer, half bath, Cuisinart blender, and outdoor grill, got a LOT of use. The kids enjoyed the DVD player and the games, including chinese checkers and cribbage. While everyone else hiked for miles, I stayed in to knit, comfy on the leather furniture and drinking in the views. The property was visited by bunnies, ground squirrels, a mule deer and several elk while we were there, and the kids really loved that. Even the full moon seemed especially gorgeous shining through the enormous front windows, and I stayed up a few nights just to enjoy it. We had so much fun, we hated to leave.
