Q. Is the cabin secluded? A. The cabin is outside the hustle and bustle of town. It is spaced far from other cabins and homes, and though you can see them, we have almost two acres and you do not feel "close" to them. There is a washer-dryer in the cabin. There is a blow dryer and iron in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. We have heat during the winter.
Q: What are Road Conditions and Access to the property A: The road to the cabin is 0.3 miles from the paved Marys Lake Road. This section (0.3 miles) is unpaved and a sizeable portion of this road is shared with other properties. Only 60 ft of this road is bumpy. We are working with the neighbors to repair the bumpy portion of the road. We have a Prius C and no problems accessing the property. On snowy days (Oct- Dec) you may need a SUV. A SUV or a 4 wheel drive is recommended if you want to sight see and visit the continental divide. See 4th picture for the road conditions.

Our weeklong stay at Pinecone Cabin nothing short of fantastic. The property location and views cannot be beat if you have plans involving visiting Estes Park, dining out or visiting RMNP as we did. The cabin was cozy and beds quite comfortable. The cabin decor was nice with a rustic mountain theme which added to our experience. In the mornings and evenings, it was fantastic just to go out on the deck and enjoy the awesome scenery. Also, daily we heard and saw elk bugling from our porch! We would highly recommend the Pinecone Cabin and plan on staying there upon our next return to the Estes Park area. Our weeklong stay was a memory maker! Thanks Janet for hospitality and making our stay enjoyable.
We had a wonderful time at the Pinecone Cottage. It was very close to the entrance to the national park and to Estes Park. The cottage was very clean and the perfect size for our family of four. It had everything that we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Great cabin was clean and well stocked. We loved the classic style. Perfect location for Estes and the park. We would stay again. I would think twice only in hot summer with no ac.
My wife and two small children accompanied me on this trip to Estes Park. I cannot say enough good things about this host. While we were there we had a few questions, and the host was incredibly responsive and timely. The cabin had all that we needed, and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway in Estes Park. The views were also amazing as well as the wildlife!
We loved this home so much!! The hosts were awesome as well !! The view is beautiful. I sat on the deck a lot to soak in the mountains. We saw elk , deer, prairie dogs , ground squirrels, chipmunks, birds different from the ones we have back home all from the deck . The drive to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park downtown is extremely short and we did both multiple times!! The home is very clean with extra perks we didn’t even expect !! We would love to stay here again next time we are in the area!! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars !!!
Pinecone cottage is about 5 minutes to the Park and about 5 minutes to downtown Estes. There is a great view from the deck and we saw deer and heard elk bugling! The cottage was very clean. The owners let us a large welcome basket and thoughtfully supplied drinking water (the cottage has well water that is slightly yellow but doesn’t have any off taste). Overall, a very nice stay!
This was the best VRBO we ever booked. Location was perfect right outside Estes on a hill with mountain views. Cabin was clean, everything worked, and our host Janet provided great coffee and snacks. The road to RMNP was down the street. Loved having coffee in the morning and cocktails at night on the deck. Elk and deer passed right through the property. We cannot say enough good things about this property, our trip and the host!
We are friends that take a trip together each year. I’ve been to Estes Park many times and this is the first time at this cabin. I would rent it again in a heartbeat. It was clean, well equipped, spacious, and comfortable. It’s a quick drive to town and to RMNP. The owners were very helpful and honest about access. There are stone steps from parking up to a regular staircase. If you have mobility issues this could be a bit difficult, but they show this in property description so it wasn’t a surprise. The views are fabulous and we spent mornings and evenings on the large deck. Pay close attention to the directions the first time getting to the house. After that it’s a breeze. Perfect getaway in the mountains.
Very nice cabin with very good views. Comfortable furnishings and fully stocked kitchen.. Fast wi-fi and good tv situation. Feels secluded and has a nice deck with mountain views. We stay in Estes Park often and would not hesitate to recommend Pinecone Cottage.
Great spot for our week in the Rockies! The view from the porch is amazing. Everything was as described. The location is ideal, close to the park and town. The host went above and beyond to make our stay special. I would highly recommend!
We had a fantastic stay at this cabin! The view was beautiful, and the cozy decor made it feel like a true mountain retreat. The main bedroom and bathroom were spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. We really appreciated the clear communication, both through VRBO and the helpful notes in the cabin. The snacks and bottled water were such a thoughtful gesture. Best of all, the location was incredibly convenient to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park, which made exploring effortless. We’d definitely love to stay again!
We enjoyed staying here. So very clean! The views were amazing! Everything we needed was there. Very close to everything to see and do. We would book this place again! The short road there is a little rugged but our car did fine.
Quite well cared for property. A lot of stairs which would not be suitable for older guests, but fine for family.

Such a great cabin & vacation!
My family & I stayed at Pinecone Cottage in Estes Park, CO. This immaculate, isolated, & fully furnished cabin met all of our expectations & needs. We would like to stay there again. Janet, cabin owner & manager, was kind, hospitable, helpful, cooperative, & honest.
Estes Park & RMNP had majestic & beautiful landscapes & animals along w/ nice, cool weather.
This place was perfect. It was very well-kept and had Wifi, but rustic enough and the dirt road is a nice touch too. And the view is incredible, looking down at Estes Park and The Stanley Hotel (where they filmed some movie awhile back). The entrance to RMNP was only 3 miles away. We had no issues but Janet seemed very responsive and wanted to be sure we enjoyed our stay.
This is a very cute cabin. Nice and rustic. Cozy. I do have to say we were not comfortable with the mattresses in the master. We even tried sleeping in separate beds. Really struggle with the beds. Janet was absolutely ! She was so kind and helpful. I just can’t say enough good things about her. We did contact her about a. Out of things and she is on top of all! Very helpful.
Pinecone Cottage was such a tranquil, cozy place to relax and kick back after hiking and playing out in the frigid temps! The views of the Rockies are beautiful. Our hosts were very communicative and thoughtful. Special touches like complimentary snacks were very much appreciated. The cabin was very clean and well stocked. Estes is just a few minutes drive away and so is the entrance to RMNP. We cannot wait to come back!
The cabin was exceptionally clean, and the host even provided a "welcome basket" filled with treats, as well as a folder including many menus of several local restaurants. The view was amazing: one afternoon we saw no less than 25+ elk about 100 yards down the mountain from out deck! The pantry included items that many cabins do not supply. All in all, a memorable trip, and we would not hesitate to return to this cabin in the future.
My family of 5 stayed in this cozy cottage and loved it! The first night we arrived we saw a deer standing on a rock right behind the house and the next day we saw a young buck eating on the side of the driveway! I like the rustic feeling of the cottage, while having all of the modern amenities that we are used to. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well with plenty of room for everyone. We didn't use the kitchen much except to store a few items in the fridge, but the kitchen was stocked with anything anyone would need to cook and serve a meal if you choose. We really enjoyed all of the extras the owners thought of to make our stay feel like home. The cottage was very well taken care of and clean and you can tell that the owners take great pride in this home! The rustic cabin theme could be seen throughout the home, from the furniture to the style of dishes. This cottage was a great place to stay and truly feel like we got to experience a mountain vacation in this wonderful home!
