"The location is a little remote but absolutely stunning and extremely quiet. Everything was very clean and the staff very welcoming. I wish we could have stayed a little longer but we had to be off early. Will definitely return if we are in the area again."

"It was a relaxing place to rest after a long drive from Porto city. Surrounded by farmland it was a quiet and serene, Staff was professional. Breakfast was great...ample choice and variety of delicious fresh food. Although we did not utilize, there are two swimming pools available. Added bonus were the farm animals....great for all ages. "This is a hidden gem. Booked last minute and were absolutely blown away by what we found. It rained the day we were there so we cozied up in one of there beautifully appointed nooks and read. The breakfast was incredible and included Definitely would come back. The staff and grounds were so welcoming "

"We were made to feel ‘at home’ and very welcome from the word go. The food was excellentc and the staff were very friendly. "

"We stayed here for 2 nights and it was alright for what we needed it for. Nothing special. We didn’t realize just how in the middle of nowhere it would be. It’s quite remote and the country roads to get there are a bit tricky to navigate at night. We were exploring comporta for the two days that we were there but it’s about a 40 min drive so if you’re thinking of exploring comporta just keep that in mind. Also, there are no doors in the bathroom which we did not enjoy. Lastly, the room itself had some things that needed fixing. For example, the bottom of the door was completely falling off and the floor which is made up of some type of cork looked like it needed a refresh - it was stained on multiple areas. The breakfast included was also just ok - the eggs were cold and so was the bacon. We got to breakfast at 10 AM so I guess if you’re an early riser it might’ve been warm but they could also invest in better equipment to keep the food warm for the rest of us that are jet lagged and not up at the crack of dawn. Overall, it was just an ok experience. "

"Negatives:Towels, bedding and outside furniture are dated (one leg fell off the outside table every time it was moved). The shower curtain needs replacing. Pans, crockery and cutlery need a good clean (we cleaned sufficient for our needs and left those items clean). With a few small updates and a bit of cleaning, this would be a great place to stay.Positives:Marten is a nice fellow and quick with his communication replies and lives close by. The location is great if you want peace and quiet, privacy and great views. It's about 1.5km from Garvao which has some facilities and only around 12km from Ourique with its supermarkets and greater choice of restaurants and bars.The ceiling fan was a bonus in the scorching weather we had.The pool is good for a proper swim (it's about 10m long).Good wifi signal and mobile phone reception.Advisory.The villa is accessible via rough, stony and dusty tracks. We found access a little easier from the southern side of Garvao."
