  • Welcome to the Hummingbird Pod at Sally's Brook Wilderness Cabins in beautiful Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. You will be staying in our luxury sleeping pod with a living room, a cozy bedroom and views to St. Ann's Bay. We are an eco friendly off-grid retreat where the separate kitchen building and bathroom buildings are fully stocked with essential items to make your stay special. Our bathrooms have large showers and separate spaces for each visitor. A relaxing place to stay. Please note that our cabins are a 5 minute walk up the hill from the parking area. Let us know in advance if you will need help bringing your luggage up!

Cozy cabin in the woods, our dog didn’t want to leave. The bed was a double but we slept better in it than we did with some queen beds. The cabin can get warm for summer but we were able to create a good cross breeze by opening both windows and using the fan provided. It is a beautiful glamping experience. The compost toilet was the biggest adjustment for us. The ferry nearby can be a little noisy if sitting outside but hardly ever noticed it in the cabin. Unfortunately the trails and sauna were closed during our stay because of a province wide closure to prevent fires, so something to be aware of when planning timing of a trip (we were August). Sally’s was great about communicating this and we recognize it was a provincial mandate. This is a great spot if you want to feel like you are in nature but have something a step up from a tent. After we finished our Wast Coast trip we agreed Sally’s was one of the locations we would happily go back to stay.

J'ai adoré notre séjour chez Sally's Brook. Lisa a été géniale avec nous. Le "cookhouse" était génial et avait tout ce dont nous avions besoin. Le lit etait HYPER confortable, je n'ai jamais aussi bien dormi. Petit astérisque, si vous choisissez le Hummingbird pod, c'est très petit. C'est mieux pour un couple ou une seule personne. J'étais avec mon père et mon chien, mon père a dormi confortablement sur le sofa lit, et on a trouvé un endroit pour mon chien aussi. Mais je recommande plus gros, si vous avez besoin de deux lits.

Such a great romantic atmosphere, very cozy and perfect for a romantic getaway!! View was breathtaking and lights going to the cabin were such a special touch!Property manager Lisa was great at communicating before /during and after stay! Only problem was we wish we could of stayed longer to enjoy the sauna but we will definitely be back!!
