OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
If you are visiting during the winter months and the forecast calls for snow/ice, a 4WD or AWD vehicle is suggested in order to more easily travel the roads throughout our community and to our cabin.
The HOA does not allow large trailers, campers, or vehicles that exceed 26ft to keep the community quiet and more secluded.
Our beautiful cabin rests on a hillside, overlooking the river. At the ground floor level, guests have access to all of the living space and the main deck, but the firepit, hot tub, and river deck require guests to descend two flights of stairs.
In the winter, a hot tub water exchange can take several hours to reach the desired temperature, so please turn up the hot tub heat upon arrival if you plan to use it.
The indoor fireplace is unavailable for use from April 1 to October 1. We hope you'll enjoy the neon sign for some extra mood lighting during the warmer summer months!
After each guest, we thoroughly clean and refill the hot tub to ensure it's in pristine condition for your enjoyment. However, please note that the hot tub will not be immediately heated to your desired temperature upon your arrival. It takes some time for the water to heat up to the desired temperature, so we ask that you adjust the temperature as soon as you arrive if you plan on using the hot tub during your stay. The hot tub should bever be set above 104 degrees for health reasons.
The outdoor grill is connected to a timer for fire safety. If you're having issues with the propane, please check the timer to ensure that the gas can properly flow.
The property is regularly sprayed for bugs, but please note that you're visiting the forest and our bug friends live in and around the river and forest. You'll likely see a friend or two if you leave the doors or windows open.

Loved it was the perfect country get away with my little family.. the whole place was amazing and definitely an adventure.. the kinda trip I always wanted to go on to relax yet have stuff to do with your family.. was very very clean.. hot tub was nice too ❤️ kitchen was great had everything you needed.. beds were really soft.. good location and easy to find..
also was more private than I thought too.. 😊
We were looking for somewhere different to vacation this year, and we decided on Ellijay. We absolutely loved where we stayed. Everything was exactly as described. We had a great time with our son, who seemed to love watching all the deer more than anything. I would most definitely recommend staying here.
This home is absolutely adorable, clean, bright, well stocked. The neighborhood is quiet and the property is beautiful. Communication before and during was excellent. It was a wonderful getaway for our family. The only thing to be prepared for is the drive within the community and the driveway/parking area. But then if you are looking, you obviously want to be in the mountains so think of it as an adventure!
Absolutely loved this home & location ❤️❤️❤️
Only thing I would change would be to increase the cooking utensils to include casserole cookware to include 9x9 & 9x13...gallon size tea pitcher, & several sharp paring knives.
We loved being on the river and watching the tubers flow by! All the deer we got to see was incredible! The home was so cozy and comfortable! We had a nine month old and there weren’t sharp edgy furniture pieces or fancy modern glass to have finger prints on everything!!! It was amazing and we enjoyed every minute of our Labor Day long weekend at Adventure Awaits. Loved the led sign too!
It is a hike down to the river but you know why driving the roads :)
We really enjoyed our stay with our boys (6 y and 9 mon) at the cabin. Everything was clean and with the lazy river right in the back yard it was perfect for the kids to play in the water or fish. It is very quiet too, maybe 1-2 cars going by the cabin per day - which made it very relaxing and perfect for kids that want to ride their bikes or for going on a walk. We would have loved if any of the pictured water equipment, such as canoe or tubes were available to us. Lots of wildlife to enjoy too. We saw deer, huge butterflies, owls, bunnies, wild geese, squirrels and woodpeckers! Lots to explore!
The house, the outside surroundings, everything was wonderful. Having never been to these mountain cabins, the roads were very scary the first few times we travelled on them. After a few days, we became more comfortable. I would suggest you give first time visitors more of a heads-up on the roads. We were not able to get the gas fireplace to work. Looked like it had not been used for a while. Overall, we loved staying at this house. Seeing the deer everywhere and watching our dog run down through the leaves was so delightful. Thank you for a chance to enjoy the beauty of fall.
Great getaway for the family! The house was clean and well stocked. We had pretty much everything needed for our stay. Getting to and from the fire pit requires some effort but once you are down there, it’s quite nice. My only quibble is about the pullout bed, it’s not big enough for an adult.
We really enjoyed our holiday weekend in the mountains. The cabin was perfect for our family. The river view on the back deck was beautiful and watching the deer trek through the property was enjoyable. Host was very prompt and easily available for any questions.
We loved the cabin and proximity to the river. We woke to deer every morning which was an incredible bonus. The only complaint was the drivability of the roads in Coosawattee Resort as we were not prepared for the extremely steep and and narrow roads with drop offs on either side. We had a small car with front wheel drive and found it difficult in some places to climb the steep hills. Had we known we would have rented an all wheel drive vehicle
The house is super cute and very clean with lots of board games and outdoor games to keep you entertained. The hot tub was a nice addition to sit outside and enjoy nature. We brought our 14 year old dog who LOVES the water, thinking he would be able to enjoy the river. The only thing was, its a pretty steep and long staircase to get down the property, and then the river's entrance is also on a steep bank which was not easily accessible for our old pup. So for those two reasons I would say the river isn't easily accessible for older people/pets. But the host was very helpful and communicative and helped us find a spot to drive to for our pup to have easy access to water so that was great. Host is very attentive and responsive. We were happy with our stay.
We had such a great time at adventure awaits. We walked into a very clean and sleek cabin. They had a roll away bed and a dog crate and bed. The back porch was such an amazing view of the river and all the wild life. We were greeted morning and night but at least 6 deer everyday. We brought our puppy and brought a ground stake so she can roam and swim without running away and we were able to relocate her wherever we were so she can still be with us . She absolutely loved the river. We fished everyday ((only had 1 bite)) we found out later in our trip that the pond on beaver lake was fully stocked for catch and release. We were only able to spend 30 min there due to the weather, but we did see a lot of fish there. We loved catching fireflies every night ((8:20 is the best time)) the fire pit was great. Cartecay adventure tubing was so fun and perfect for my kids 7,8,10….the host was so helpful and responded to my many questions promptly. The only bad thing was there was no covering for the front door window or the back door window…this is a complete personal preference, but we were able to put a sheet over the windows at night time. The walk down to the river was steep and hill to the river bank was slippery. We would absolutely stay here again! Lots to do in the cossawattee river resort too! Felt very safe in the neighborhood. Double thumbs up!
The cabin was booked for myself and husband originally. We were meeting with friends from Florida who were in Ellijay for the week. Last minute, my daughter and her family asked about joining us for an evening. I reached out to the manager, paid an additional fee and the kids got to stay. Our friends from Florida joined us that evening and, again, the management was accommodating to allow them to visit for dinner. The cabin was clean and in a beautiful location on the river. The beds were comfortable. The only request that I would make is that they label the light switches - there are a lot in the house! We would definitely stay here again!
