Hike through misty tea plantations to Little Adam's Peak for sunrise views of the lush Uva highlands. Take the scenic train journey across Nine Arch Bridge, then visit Ravana Falls where locals swim in natural pools.
The view is supreme. The room is very clean and quite well-appointed for the class of hotel. The location is very near to town just up the way to its hilltop perch. A good walk or short tuk tuk ride .
The staff were friendly and helpful and the WiFi was good. I had reason to contact the manager and he responded quickly to sort out my issue.
I highly recommend Mountjoy Ella.

Lovely accommodation with fantastic views, breakfast was wonderful and plenty of it. Very friendly staff.
Accommodation provides tuk tuk service to meet a private driver (as too steep for a large car) or take you into Ella town for a meal.

This was our second time staying at 98 Acres. The Resort and its facilities are wonderful but the staff at 98 Acres are absolutely amazing. They are always cheerful, welcoming, helpful and full of knowledge and pride both in their work and to guests. Thanks heaps. We hope to visit 98 Acres again!

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast is simple and tasty and sets you up well for the day. It’s served on your own balcony which for us had a lovely view of Ella Rock. The guest house is located very close to the Main Street which his filled with restaurants and shops. The walk there and back is very steep, but you are in Ella!! The lovely man who runs this place is so friendly, helpful and welcoming. If you want a local feel this is the place for you.

This place is a little gem. Super helpful owners Cynthia and Roshan and excellent breakfast, in fact the best breakfast I had in Sri Lanka. Cynthia and Roshan were so nice and went out of the way to help guests. The following morning, Roshan even drove me to the Colombo bus stop some 2 kms away.
The place is within walking distance from the Ella train station. What's more, if you can play a little bit of piano, you can play the piano at the place. There you have it!
I will highly recommend...

Staff were lovely and incredibly helpful. Location is ideal, view is stunning. The pool was nice to swim in. If you don’t mind stairs, this place is ideal.

Fantastic views from our balcony along the valley and pretty special to see the sun come up over the mountain. Sri Lankan breakfast was very good. The property is up a very steep and narrow road and the walk is not for the feint hearted, so requires a tuk tuk ride up and down.
