"Pension Barbara is a very cosy and clean pension right next to the paths leading up to The Brocken. The hostess was very sweet and attentive, and we had a good stay. Schierke as a town is a bit dated and quiet in the autumn, when we visited. Is was difficulty to find a place to just have a couple of drinks etc. The national park, Brocken and paths are all excellent for a short hiking-holiday. Great nature, chalenging paths (if you want it), nice restaurant on the summit."

"Very nice hotel with clean rooms, excellent breakfast, perfect location, close to shopping and dining. It’s close to the railway and you can hear the train passing, but sleeping was not a problem. We will book the same hotel if we go back to Goslar another time."
