"The rooms are basic but very reasonably priced and very clean, with aircon and storage for clothes, just what you need! Breakfast at 6euros/person was lovely and served to you in your room. We ate out on our room balcony with breathtaking panoramic views of the castle and surrounding mountains. Lots of hot water, clean fresh towels (daily if required) and shampoo supplied. TV in the room and a full size fridge so you can easily self-cater if you are travelling on a budget. Rooms are so reasonably priced! Our hosts could not do enough for us very helpful, knowledgeable and informative. Hostal Duran is right at the edge of the bustling village, filled with cafe's, bars restaurants (tapas was a favourite for us) and shops. There is also a very clean outdoor public swimming lane pool and a leisure pool, with the fabulous mountains for a back drop at 2euros/person(cash only for the pool). A couple of parks for younger kids, a winery for the adults, a selection of clothes and souvenir shops, a local pharmacy and a high street bank. Great air conditioned direct train link to Malaga Central and a regular local bus service (cash only for the bus). Local taxi drivers are a fountain of knowledge. Andalusia is the home of flamenco steeped in history with hidden gems such as Alora, a must see!"

"Absolutely delighted with our stay. The rooms were clean and had good storage with toiletries and plenty of plug sockets etc. The air con was great :) Oliver was amazing, super helpful with tips and reccomendations as well as greeting us each morning with a yummy breakfast. The pool and garden is so nice to relax in amongst days of exploring the local area. We had a car hire but the train stop is around the corner. So many positives. We would love to stay again, it had everything we needed and with it only being half an hour or so from Malaga airport you cant go wrong. We went to Ronda, sentenil de la bodega, the caminito del rey during our stay. There is plenty more to see and do! 😃 This place is a hidden gem"

"We stayed for 5 days in July and we were very well looked after. The staff were very warm and welcoming when we arrived. The building has been renovated to a high standard and is kept very clean and well maintained by the hard working staff. Lots of nice details such as roof terrace, espresso pod machine in the corridor on each floor, a safe and fridge in the room with alcoholic and soft drinks which were complementary (I have never experienced this in any hotel). The rooms have good air con and modern bathrooms. There is a free public car park 5 mins walk from the hotel up a steep hill. The town is lovely but very hilly so less able walkers may struggle. The highlight for us was the restaurant. We were half board and had breakfast and lunch or dinner each day. The meals of chef José were outstanding. They were healthy and beautifully presented, generous portion sizes and full of Andalusian flavours using local produce. It was one of the best dining experiences we have had in any hotel or restaurant. We were also well looked after by Emily in the restaurant who helped make it such a wonderful experience. Thank you so much Jose and Emily! Well done everyone at the Hostal Boutique Tolox Sierra de las Nieves. We highly recommend staying and/or eating there and we would be very happy to stay there again. "We could not have asked for more from our wonderful, welcoming hosts. We have stayed in many rental homes in the last twenty years so when I say that this rates among our top stay ever, I have a solid frame of reference. We were three generations, seven adults and four children, who had so many different areas to lounge, play swim, read, and eat, it could not have been more perfect. Our host, Mari, answered every single one of my questions. I even was able to visit her local salon and get one of my best haircuts this year. So many wonderful memories were made here that I don't know how we will top it for next year. The in town restaurants were excellent! We already miss that beautiful breeze off the mountains, the morning crow and neighs of neighborhood animals, and the sunrises. We visited Malaga, Marbella, Granada, Cordoba, Frigiliana and Nerja from this location. Thank you so much for the memories!"
