Downtown modern loft apartment within steps of shopping boutiques, restaurants, and bars.



Industrial and modern, yet cozy. Architecturally a dream: Vaulted ceilings, original brick re-exposed, and wide plank hardwood floors. Beautiful, modern, and practically updated for downtown living. Curl up with your morning coffee in the book nook and watch the occasional passers-by. Enjoy a great movie night experience with our giant TV and sink-in couches. Cook a gourmet dinner with our full kitchen. Don't forget a nice red from Village Wine and Spirits (across the street) to pair with the pasta!



We have a few board games in the room for your pleasure as well as a shuffleboard table.



This unit only has 1 private bedroom. If you are wanting to stay with more people, you would need to utilize the queen size pullout couch in the living room and/or blow-up air mattress.



**BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS: Our lofts are located above a coworking space in downtown Effingham, ask us about a steeply discounted office pass when you stay with us!



Parking is free in back lot and on street. Neighborhood is very safe and very walkable.



In the heart of a bustling downtown with Saturday farmers market, a basement speakeasy, live music (on Wednesdays at Village Wine), good restaurants, boutique shopping, a wine shop, and bars all within steps.



Park right outside the front or back door and walk all downtown. 10 minutes drive to pristine Lake Sara beach. 5 minutes or less drive to anywhere else in town!

Stunning, elegant and great host

This place is as lovely as the pictures. Michael has left no detail undone and he’s a lovely host. It had been years since I’ve been to Effingham and boy has it become cool! Downtown is charming - great restaurants and shops, all within walking. I was just passing through but wish I could have stayed longer.

We didn't even stay 24hrs as this was kind of a test run as we will be in and out of that area often for work for next several months. Very Comfy and Clean with all the necessities! Well thought out by host they pay attention to details. Defiantly will book again.

Our family loved staying at the Exchange. Our loft was very clean with fun decor. The location is fantastic in downtown Effingham. We enjoyed evening drinks at the Wheat Penny downstairs. We will definitely be repeat visitors!

A five star stay

We stayed here over the 4th of July! It was in a great location in the heart of Effingham right above a great little speakeasy and just a couple blocks from Joe Sippers for morning coffee. It looked exactly like the pictures — a big bright, open loft in a historic building that somehow still managed to feel modern and cozy. It’s one of those places that feels like being at home even though you’re away, especially with a well appointed kitchen with all the basic utensils and supplies for cooking. The hosts were very quick and easy to communicate with and getting in and out was very easy, with key fobs giving you quick access to the building. It was also pet friendly, a perfect-sized space for our medium-sized dog to sprawl out and be equally as at ease. There were also really thoughtful touches, like access to streaming apps, a complementary bottle of wine and a free cocktail for the space downstairs. TL;DR this is what it feels like to be pampered and hosted and not have to worry about a thing.
