My wife and I had a wonderful two-day stay at the Villa Maria March 9 - 11, 2015.
The B&B is located about 7 minutes west of the West Edmonton Mall, right off the Highway 16A on ramp, convenient, but far enough away that you hear nothing from the road. It was extremely quiet.
Mimi (sorry about the spelling, Mimi) and Stephan are your hosts, and if you wish, your new friends in Edmonton. Stephan was away, but Mimi treated us amazingly well.
When we checked in, she asked what time WE would like breakfast, and gave us two choices. I meant to ask her secret ingredient in her ham and cheese omelet! :)
The facility is great. It's the largest B&B we've stayed in - 8 guest rooms. Each has its own bath. Ours was a queen, and perfect.
Bed and Breakfast places are always hit and miss. They are not cookie cutter hotels. Mimi and Stephan built this one 8 years ago as a B&B, and did a great job!
They are very respectful of you and your stay, and expect you to be respectful of their home.
If you plan to go out partying, or stay in partying, may I suggest a Motel 6.
If you want to a great night or two or more away from the madding crowds, Villa Maria awaits you.
As for the neighbourhood? It's on an acreage, surrounded by honest people in middle class homes, with workshops and garages. Safe and quiet but not the prettiest.
Absolutely not a detractor for us. There was lots of parking, and their home is beautiful and well set up for your comfort.
