In a very cold Edinburgh, the main heater was not working and a small electric heater was in the room which was ok ,bit aiso in the way,,in a very small room. Swing a cat comes to mind. The room was clean and the service was fine

Little Gem Close to everything.
Close to the city, half an hour walk to Royal Mile, nice clean rooms and the shared bathroom I used. Super markets walking distance, bus stop across the road. The staff were very friendly and helpful, there is a customer car park at the rear, and breakfasts are offered as well, thoroughly recommend staying there.

Warm welcome from the staff and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the single room and its amenities. However, one bathroom for the whole property containing the shower and the toilet is stretching it - at least separate the two, perhaps?

Found this hotel at the last minute as I was just passing through Unfriendly and abrupt staff from the moment I arrived at the door Room was ok but dated and there was problems With the plumbing in the bathroom Checkout was 10.30 and a member of staff knocked the door at 10.25 to say it was time to check out Overall a very poor experience Will not be recommending this place to anyone

The day before my stay I was called by staff to tell me that there were “unforeseen circumstances” and I would be upgraded to a new hotel. I was moved to the Britannia Edinburgh Hotel where the rate was double of my original booking. I was informed by staff I would pay my original room rate, only for the staff at the new hotel to inform me that this wasn’t true. Horrible customer service on the part of both hotels!

Rooms very very small, sheets a little bit worn and certainly not white cotton sheets like you might find in a premier Inn or similar, staff friendly enough but no...not for me....so much so we didn't stay, after paying £175 for two nights I spent a further £230 to stay somewhere else, don't bother

The hotel was very comfortable very quiet and perfect for my needs. The room was small but practical, . A friendly and showed me to my room and a guide on the facilities. The hotel is not a 20 minute walk from the city centre it's more like a 40 minute walk. So pack your walking shoes you will need it. I would definitely stay there again it was perfect for my needs.

Easy transport into city centre, also easily walkable. Lovely spacious and clean room, with a very comfortable bed. Didn't try breakfast, so can't comment on that. Very pleasant stay overall and would stay again.

Nice Hotel, 20 mins walking to Royal mile
Hotel was clean and tidy and with super friendly staff. It's only 20 mins walking to Royal mile and has lots n lots of food options close by. It's only 10 mins driving from Calton hill and Arthur's seat. Would recommend it any time.

Terrible in the sense that the water was cold, sink stopped up most of the time. Shower was great. No real set time for housekeeping and never took towels or emptied trash unless we specified. Wi fi was never working consistently so impossible to locate places. Cover kept slipping off bed because duvet didn't fit properly. Had to sit in lobby to use wi fi. Most of the time no one there to assist and no phone. I would never stay or recommend.

Great B&B for the Price
Stayed a total of three nights over two different stays. The B&B was exactly what it needed to be. It was clean enough to be comfortable, close enough to city centre to be convenient and the price fit perfectly with our trip budget.

Inexpensive alternative to downtown hotels
Thrum's Hotel proved to be a great little hotel just outside the noise and energy of the city, but only a short and direct bus ride away from the Royal Mile. It's a small place, with only a handful of rooms, but the rooms are a decent size and the hotel as a whole is a comfortable place to stay.Breakfast is not included, but its a reasonable enough add-on.

Good stay, cheap and cheerful
Great price for the hotel location, 5 min bus or 20 min walk to centre. Staff are very friendly, nice and quiet and good sized rooms, the bathroom was adequate. Plus good size parking round the back of the hotel. Can't comment on breakfast as we didn't eat but there are nice places locally.
