We stayed at Queens View for one night on arrival to Scotland. Next day we headed up to Inverness for a planned five nights; however, based on our most enjoyable stay the first night, we decided to cut short our Inverness visit for three more nights at QV. Thankfully, a room was available.
What drew us back to Queen’s View? Firstly, the wonderful hospitality of Catriona, our host. She firstly offered us a cup of tea while she explained everything about the B&B. Then she took us to our room, which was lovingly appointed with all the amenities we could want. Next she offered up recommendations for dining (check out our review of the Four Marys) in Linlithgow.
The next morning we had a lovely breakfast served fresh and hot. The porridge is so good and hearty; to take one through a busy day visiting Linlithgow Palace, and all the other wonderful castles, churches, etc to visit.
The B&B is in a lovely country location overlooking a rolling meadow of grazing sheep, over which one can see the Linlithgow Palace. It is but five minutes to drive to the village for dining and shopping (the village is also on the train line to take a train into Edinburgh and avoid traffic and parking).
Catriona (and Amanda who assisted her) were so friendly and offered up great conversation; all of which was genuine - not forced like at hotels or AirBnB locations.
We felt truly welcome and we most certainly shall return on a future visit to Scotland!
