Our stay in Tom’s apartment couldn’t have been any better. The place is gorgeous, has everything you may need, is within walking distance of Old Town and most tourist destinations. Tom is a wonderful author and several of his books are there to read (very good!) along with a very nice library. The Wi-Fi worked beautifully and the apartment is very clean. I would definitely stay here again. Perfect!

Loved the apartment especially because of the quiet bedroom with comfortable bed located in the back of the apartment overlooking the gardens, set in a lovely neighborhood within walking distance to all the city has to offer. Tom, the host, is friendly and personable and explained all the essentials. We loved hanging out in the bright, cheerful living room in the morning with tea/coffee and at the end of a busy day.

This was a wonderful sunny and quiet apartment in a great neighborhood .Everything was well stocked and clean. It was close to the center of town and bus lines. We enjoyed its location near shops in Stockbridge and The Royal Botanical Garden. The only problem for an older person like me was the two flights of circular stairs. For younger folks it would be no problem.

Ideal location, very quiet apartment with a lot of character. All the necessary ingredients are present in the kitchen and Tom was very attentive to all our questions. Very plesant stay to start our trip!

Perfect for some days in Edinburgh

Tom was the perfect host, he greeted us personally and we had everything we needed, plenty of space for 4 people and very quiet but only a few minutes walk to the center, perfect for a nice stay in Edinburgh. We can fully recommend the apartment and will be back.

Perfect Edinburgh Stay

Stay was wonderful. Owner is noted Scottish author Tom Wood. Flat is very comfortable, well furnished and decorated. Lots of books, from works of literature to notable fiction writers. Centrally located, within walking distance to public transportation, pubs, restaurants. A perfect base to explore Edinburgh. Communication with Tom was easy. We enjoyed our visit with him!

Comfortable stay in Edinburgh!

Tom was very flexible when our arrival was delayed. He was communicative and helpful throughout. Plenty of room for myself and two teens. Shortish walk or fast taxi ride into town. Enjoyed our stay very much, and would love to return.

Honestly, the profile pictures didn't do this flat justice. It is beautiful. The high ceilings were stunning. We appreciated the cozy, comfortable interiors. There are two normal beds and we used a pull-out coach for the third. We didn't use the kitchen much more than quick breakfasts but seems to have all the necessities. The location is definitely walkable to the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, University of Edinburgh and it's proximity to the trams allowed easy access to other areas of the city. Nearby dining options were numerous and highly recommend reservations to Dishoom. Tom was an incredible host with a super fast response time. Very kind and accomodating.

A quiet gem hidden away in the heart of Edinburgh

This lovely, bright and clean two bedroom and one a half bath flat was situated on a beautiful and quiet crescent in the heart of the very trendy Broughton area of Edinburgh. It is only a 10 minute walk from Waverley Rail Station and Princes Street. There are literally LOADS of shops, markets, cafes, pubs, and British and ethnic restaurants within a few minutes walk in any direction. A large Tesco supermarket is only a 5 minute walk down the hill. The flat is gorgeous! Beautiful wooden floors and creative area rugs, full of art show posters and beautiful artwork in every room (even the bathrooms!), two gorgeous fireplaces, beautiful comfortable beds with thick down duvets, fashionable and comfy furniture, a fully stocked kitchen with every appliance you could imagine. The kitchen also was stocked with the basics - tea, coffee, condiments, and even fresh milk for our arrival. When we had occasion to ask the owner for something, Tom responded immediately and delivered the requested items within the hour. You can tell Tom loves literature and the arts as the ethos of the flat is resplendent with the love of beauty and hundreds of books to get lost in. It was like being a guest in someone's home, but with the privacy to do whatever you wanted in one of the most beautiful cities on the planet. Tom is also a bit of a Scottish celebrity in the true crime field, and you should definitely ask him about it! I loved every minute of our 7 night stay in this absolute gem of a flat.

We absolutely loved this sunny Edinburgh rental! It is hard to chose which part we liked best: the location that is within walking distance of everything (we walk a lot); the beautiful historical flat full of interesting art, decor, and books; the well appropriated furnishings and items handy for travelers; or the welcoming, helpful, and very prompt communication from the property owner, Tom. All together, Tom curated a vacation stay we will cherish because we genuinely felt connected to the city. Edinburgh is very far away from our home, but if we ever are lucky enough to return, we will certainly stay here again.

The apartment was in a quiet location with easily access to the old town. The apartment was nicely appointed with everything we needed for our stay. Tom, the host made the process easy from start to end. He was welcoming and informative about the local area making it easy to settle in immediately The only issue was the single bed mattress was not comfortable for one guest. We contacted Tom who came and set up the pull out sofa which suited our needs better. The apartment is reached via a spiral staircase with about 40 steps needed to be climbed to access apartment.. this is an important consideration for some people. Thank you Tom for the best accommodation and welcome we have received on our travels.
