Great location old town
This could be a lovely place I love the old Town and old buildings this is why I booked this one in particular. I had a few issues with this place 1 being the windows if you like to go to bed and sleep then until this problem is sorted this is not the place! We were awake till 5am with the outside noise coming through the the windows you literally felt as though you were outdoors it was that bad ! Another issue was after I booked this studio I had a email from the place saying there would be a £200 deposit needed on check in- this amount was not stated on the booking form as I would not have booked up here, anyway on arrival the man never asked for this money which we were glad about, they also state there is a daily reception 2-4 which there is not , we actually had a message to meet a person at a pizza shop round the back to receive the key to our studio we did this basically in the street which I found odd, in general this place was ok it was clean and the ladies that look after this place were very friendly and helpful, I would return if these minor issues were looked into as it is in a great place and location.

Was actually bought for my dads birthday as a relaxing weekend. First Problem, the windows are not sealed allowing a significant draft to come in, therefore the full apartment was absolutely freezing all night. Second Problem, windows again the didn’t block out any noise of the nightlife below and my party of people were all kept awake until at least 5am. Lastly, heating system was inadequate twice my dad had to phone someone to come and fix the heater, of which just didn’t work, not exactly helpful considering it’s the end of October. Really nice apartments but only stay here if in the warmer months of the year and if you don’t mind noise from the street below. All in all my party wouldn’t return again.

Niddry street apartments.
Really enjoyed visiting Edinburgh.The accommodation was all that we required. The only problem was the narrow winding staircase all the way up to the third floor.

Place is just needing to be swept and cleaned a bit more. Sheets clean but bugs galore in the apartment and it’s up 6 flights! Arrangements to get in are super complicated and even following them I was locked out for 4 hours. Great for the price for 4 people compared to most so great location just complicated

This place has four floors with two units per floor. One of these is occupied by the manager...I'm not sure how many - if any at all - are occupied by long-term tenants. My unit was on the top floor, which is 73 steps up. And no lift! So be prepared to carry your luggage up a long, winding staircase with some uneven steps. Despite it being on the top floor, the unit was extremely noisy, almost if it was designed to get all the noise from the busy streets and the bar below. The bedroom had two very small beds. The previously mentioned sticky surfaces are likely due to the cleanser they use (floors were not sticky, just counter tops). There is NO signage that identifies this is the Niddry Apartments. The main door looks like it belongs to the ground-level bar and is simply designated with the numeral '5'. Check-in time is limited to two hours. I didn't use the kitchen so can't comment on this. The big feature of this property is that it is right in the middle of Edinburgh's very active nightlife. It is best suited to those who want this location, need a kitchen and can live with the noise, small beds, staircase, and narrow check-in time frame. Otherwise, I strongly suggest a hotel. My stay was in mid-September, so I can't remark on the adequacy of the heating system.

Fringe stay
Stayed for the Fringe. Great location , surroundings are noisy but that's to be expected as you are in the centre of everything ! My only concern is that it should be made clear that the top flats involve many stairs to get to- it wasn't a problem for us but would be for someone with mobility issues. Would I go back again ? - definitely YES !

The location was great for exploring the royal mile and the apartment had some really nice features but the floors were sticky, there was used soap and empty shampoo containers in the shower, no new soap, counters were dirty and dirt build up in the corners of the rooms. Also the noise was unreal from pub partiers until 4am outside. Couldn’t sleep even with earplugs. This wasn’t a great choice for a family with kids.

Great Little Apartment in City Centre
Great location for exploring Edinburgh right on the Royal Mile near the Radisson Blue Hotel. Very steep staircase to flat 5 or 6 for elderly people or if you have a lot of luggage.

Noisiest place ever!
The location was great. The apartment pretty comfortable and clean. There was no staff and no one to contact if there was a problem. There were no towels in the kitchen so doing dishes was impossible. There were not enough bath towels as well. The apartment is over two pubs that were open until 3 am. It was so noisy that we had to wear ear plugs and then couldn't drown out the noise. The morning we left there were cigarettes butts, bath tissue with feces in it, food, and garbage all over the doorway and sidewalk. It was disgusting. There is no elevator and short winding steps. The stairway was filthy and the people that run the pub smoked in the stairway so it stunk all the time. I would definitaly never stay there again!

NOISIEST APARTMENT EVER!
Amazing location right off the golden mile BUT this flat is at the top of a very steep set of stairs (no lift) and sits above a pub open till 3am! So between the pub noise and the sirens don't expect to sleep. I travel extensively and this is without exception the NOISIEST apartment I have ever stayed in. Even with plugs in there was still no peace and quiet! Shower is VERY small so if you are slightly larger than normal you may not fit and there was an aweful lot of black hair on the bathroom floor and we are all redheads. Anyways nice little kitchen and the wifi was solid but stay here at your own peril and don't say you weren't warned....

The apartment was located right off the Royal Mile, which was great for ease of getting to activities and shopping. What was not great was that the apartment was located at the top of 3 steep and curving flights of stairs. This was not noted in the information available about the location or I would not have booked it. We had a lot of luggage as we were helping our daughter move home from England after a year's stay. My husband and I actually ended up staying somewhere else and our children stayed in the apartment. Disappointing and costly.

Fabulous location - ideal for a family or group!
Great location - right on the Royal mile. Apartment was clean and spacious. Good facilities. Only issue was the noise from the pub below which was like it was in the room! Double glazing please!!!

Excllent place to stay...close to everything
It was excellent and close to everything. It was in the center and no problem to get anywhere. Perfect place to stay if you wantto pick up some food and make yourslelf andsitback and relax or just step outside to go for a drink or something to eat or go visit or shop anywhere. Staff were excellent and it was really clean

5 Niddry Street
Visiting the Edinburgh fringe. This place was ideally located. Self catering. Clean and spacious. Stairs was about if a challenge. Could do with a few more kitchen items such as frying pan and pots and a few more pillows. But really great place for the fringe. Staff really friendly and available 24hrs. I would definitely recommend this place.

Too noisy to sleep in, no elevator.
The apartment itself is nicely renovated and well located in terms of distance to monuments. However, the fact that there is no elevator is a big obstacle for tourists with luggage. In addition, the access is situated in a small alley next to a pub. We were greeted by the garbage from the restaurant and pub at the bottom of the stairs. The smell was horrible. As for the location, it gets so noisy at night that it is impossible to sleep. You hear all the noise from the street, people screaming, trucks passing. Windows need to be soundproofed.

Comfortable, Convenient and Cosy Stay
The manager of the apartment was helpful and friendly. We had three adults and four kids and there were enough space for us all. The apartment itself was very clean and nicely decorated. The only negative thing about the apartment is that the entrance was located on the back street of many music bars and pubs, so it was noisy and busy at night.

the location is good but there were several problems. First of all, there was no lift to go to the room and the steps were very narrow. The second, the shower was very weak and it was hard to control the best warm temperature. the third problem was the window glasses were not double, so the rooms were so cold. In addition, there were not enough heaters to keep warm this room. when I was using the heaters, they stopped suddenly. Finally, it was very noisy outside because there was a pub in the downstair.

Appartement TRÈS bien situé (Royal Mile & Bridge St.), mais c’est aussi le coin le plus bruyant de la ville à la fermeture des pubs. Il faudrait la climatisation pour pouvoir garder les fenêtres fermées. D’ailleurs il manque aussi plusieurs objets de base pour que cet appartement atteigne le minimum de confort...

Bien situé, mais il s’agit du coin de rue le plus bruyant de la ville. Pas de sécheuse, ni débarbouillettes, ni lampe de chevet... de plus, la table et les (trois) chaises de cuisine sont comparables à celles que j’avais lorsque je faisais du camping à l’âge de 17 ans...

Rapport qualité prix pas terrible. Mis à part la situation rien de positif. Appartement simple, rénové à la va vite, sous les toits au 5 ème sans ascenceur, avec une chambre ,une salle de bain/wc avec une douche impossible à régler. WC sale. salon et cuisine ouverte avec vaisselle salle, couverture salle... Simple vitrage donc pas eu bien chaud et au dessus d'un bar très très bruyant jusqu'à 2-3 heure du mat. Installation expresse...Je pense qu'il vaut mieux aller à l'hôtel.

Leiligheten ligger meget sentralt i Old Town, kanskje litt for sentralt. Det var en del støy fra barene som lå i nærheten, dessuten gikk det en hovedvei rett utenfor vinduet. her var det mye trafikk store deler av døgnet. Korte avstander til det man "må/bør" se og oppleve i Edinburgh. Mange og lange trapper opp til 4. etasje og det er ikke heis. Nettilgangen var noen ganger dårlig.

perfetto. il posto ideale per visitare Edinburgo. Camere e spazi ideali. Ovviamente siamo in centro centro e quindi non è silenzioso, ma è estremamente confortevole. Da consigliare.

Nice stay in central apartment!
The apartment was very clean and the location is great, just 20 metres from the Royal Mile and South Bridge! Lots of bars and Fringe venue really close by. The apartment had a nice kitchen, but not a single pot and pan, not even cutlery enough for all of us. So don't expect to be self catering. There is no reception, and we had to get our key from the pizza guy, but he was friendly and on the whole it was a nice stay! If you want to be in the centre of everything, this is the place to stay!

Ottima scelta per visitare Edimburgo
Gli appartamenti sono al piano alto di un edificio in piena old town sul South Bridge e a cinque minuti dalla stazione autobus per l'aeroporto. L'appartamento era molto spazioso, con bagno attrezzato, riscaldamento, cucina completa, vista splendida, wi-fi gratuito e perfettamente funzionante. Pulizia ottima e personale cortese. Forse un po' caro, ma visto che è Edimburgo in centro ce lo si puo' anche aspettare.
