"I think it is completely inappropriate for this to be advertised as a 4 star property. The standard falls below 2 stars at its very best. The first room as I was offered (even though I was later told this was an error, which I do not fully believe) was in an appalling condition. "The area is completely in construction-renovation stage and till today i cannot understand how they can accept guests in such condition... When booking it was said outdoor swimming pool, breakfast, etc, however nothing was working or ready yet. Could not stay longer there and left the hotel after 1night. Not recommended - at least before they can complete the renovation, which doesn't seem to be quick..."

"Hotel is located in suburban area. From one side is cemetery, from another empty field and some abandoned construction. The only means of transportation is a taxi. There are no dining options around. You need to order food delivery or order from the only restaurant on site.
Hotel property is surrounded by the tall fence, has security on site. You may feel safe over there. Hotel has pool, gym, billiards and play room for kids. Rooms are very spacious. It has fridge and teapot. Since hotel is old, toilet and shower doesn’t drain the water properly and gets clogged from time to time. As a welcome gift hotel gives bottled water and some tea in a room. Also , guests provided with bath robes, vanity kits, combs and toothbrushes. Every morning breakfast served between 9-11am. Pretty good.
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
The center of Yerevan is about 30 mins away by cab and about 1600-2000 AMD.
Overall, positive experience."

"The Richmond is not a 4 star property in the US or a European sense, meaning it does not have tastefully bland art on the walls or bath products with mystical Thai names. However, it is located across the street from Echmiadzin and within a few blocks of most other attractions. The property is scrupulously clean. You get complimentary toothbrush and razor in the room. The walk-in shower is spacious. The mattress is comfortable. The staff is super-friendly and they cook enough food for an army, so you’re in zero danger of starving if you order breakfast or dinner. It’s a solid hotel and who cares about the number of stars?"
