With new safety guidelines in effect, travel looks a bit different at present. Here are some useful things to know before you get on that plane to East Fjords:

• Research what, if any, rules or restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so don't forget to check before you lock something in.
• Keep your face mask on even during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to lower your mask temporarily to verify your identity.

• Place any personal items (keys, wallet and phone) in your carry-on instead of a bin to reduce handling during screening.
• Separate any food you have for screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to touch and inspect your belongings.
