Room was very clean and in great condition, probably recently done over. All the staff personal we encountered were very pleasant. The rooftop deck was not nice at all. A bunch of rectangular flower boxes along perimeter with faded plastic flowers in them. And it looked nothing like the picture. Coffee maker was not working well and brought it to the attention of the staff and they were not able to give us any discount due to that. Coffee in the morning is very important to us. My husband had to get dressed and go downstairs to get coffee, and that coffee was bitter- not good at all. When the A/C came on, it made a bit of a rumble, so we turned it off and just left the fan on all night, and the room became rather warm and hard to sleep in. We wouldn't stay here again, would rather spend a bit more and have a nicer place and amenities in working order. It was convenient for walking, but a lot of homeless people in that area, and the smell of urine at times was overwhelming as we passed by some.

Great place. Walking distance to anything you need.

Ideal location in an historic hotel. The classic charm is comfortable and welcoming, though the trade-off is you don't get the full assortment of modern amenities. You do get a great bar/restaurant in Oliver's which is worth a visit, especially with a 15% discount on food.
