"Although the hotel is a little dated, it is well maintained and made up for it with its fridendly and helpful staff. A specail thank you to Maya at receiption, who make out check in smooh and welcoming.
The location is not the most convenient, especially for getting to the main shopping and transport areas, but we appreciated that the hotel provideds a complimentary shuttle service, which was very helpful.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay."

"Excellent location - dinning and attractions nearby
Clean 2 level with stairs heritage hotel
Got a space in a two spaced parking at the back
Personal con : i could feel safer as a female solo traveler if there is a female staff"

"The hotel is managed with a 24-hr check in counter with housekeeping on standby, Daily room cleaning or towel change is not provided unless if you request for it.
The breakfast provides a wide variety and the food was fresh and delicious.
One downside is the elevator crowd during peak hours where we had to wait a long time for the elevator to arrive and a long time inside the elevator to reach our floor. The hotel tried to mitigate the situation by having a staff to operate the elevator but...

"Front desk folks were a little grumpy. Not rude or anything, just seemed like we were intruding on their time when we were checking-in and out.
Overall hotel vibe is like a budget hotel. But we chose the hotel for the location which is walking distance to tourists attractions. In that sense, they met expectations."

This hotel was the best hotel we stayed in during our 4 week holiday around Malaysia. The room was very spacious &
super clean, the staff made us very welcomed. The breakfast buffet was also the best during our stay in Malaysia, not only was there plenty of choice, the presentation was fabulous and kept tidy & clean throughout the breakfast times. The hotel is in a reasonable position a 15 minute walk into Old Melaka town which you can do via the river walk or through little India town.

This was definitely a little hidden gem. An oasis near the busy town centre. The atmosphere was so relaxing, open and airy. The open courtyard where we had breakfast, open feel of the rooms with the glass bathroom, and the rooftop pool made our stay very relaxing. And being able to park our car on site and do everything on foot makes this one of the best locations I can think of for a hotel. 100% would stay here again and highly recommend. It should be a 4.5-5 start rating. Compared to other...

Amazing apartment. Excellent for cleaning and very very comfortable. Amazing support from the owner.... I'm speechless for all the assistance he has provided. He also helped us finding a driver for our long trips, he has welcomed us in an excellent way. Definitely recommend this apartment.

The Holiday Inn Malacca was great after staying in a beach hut on Tioman for a few days. The facilities (the room, the pool, sauna etc) were great. We had a hire car so it was easy to drive into town but there is a free shuttle bus. The town is walkable (10 to 20 mins) but we didn't try it. Shopping malls aren't that far away although the roads are busy so I suggest you get dropped off and picked up by the shuttle bus. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The best area to stay in Duyong is around the historical city centre of Malacca, particularly near Jonker Street and the Stadthuys.
This area is the heart of Malacca's heritage and offers the most convenient access to major historical sites. It's very walkable, with narrow streets full of well-preserved historic buildings, shops, and eateries. Jonker Street itself is famous for its night market and traditional shophouses, while the Stadthuys, a prominent red building, anchors the Dutch Square.
Couples will find this area particularly appealing due to its romantic setting and the abundance of unique cafes, antique shops, and riverside dining options. Strolling along the Malacca River or exploring the intricate lanes provides a relaxed and memorable experience.
For families, staying near the Stadthuys offers easy access to attractions like Christ Church and St. Paul's Hill, which are within a short walk. There are also trishaw rides available, which can be a fun way for children to see the sights without too much walking.
When is the best time to go to Duyong?
The best time to visit Duyong, Malacca, Malaysia is during the dry season, which typically runs from February to July.
During these months, you'll experience less rainfall and plenty of sunshine, making it ideal for exploring the outdoor attractions and enjoying the coastal activities around Duyong. The weather is generally warm and humid year-round, but the dry season offers more consistent conditions for sightseeing and boat trips.
Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will appreciate the pleasant weather for strolls along the coast or enjoying a leisurely meal at a waterside restaurant. The drier months also mean clearer waters if you plan on any aquatic activities.
Families travelling with children will find the dry season more convenient for outdoor excursions, such as visiting local parks or taking a boat tour along the Malacca River.
