"We had a mixed experience at the Royal.
Overall it was a good place to stay, good location, clean and comfortable.
The heating system in the room took a bit of working out.
But it was our experiences in the two restaurants that caused our mixed review. Missing a dish and slow service at lunch and very delayed and slow service in the evening meal.
After some discussion both issues were resolved to our satisfaction."
"Great location to see the Butt of Lewis.
Rooms were spotlessly clean and well presented and a good choice of food for the evening meal n breakfast. Staff were wonderful and helpful."
"This hotel was very clean and serviceable. Except for one exceptionally helpful staff person there was nothing outstanding about it. It was conveniently located near the ferry terminal."
"This is evidently a popular spot in the community, as we saw a bridal shower and a baby shower when we checked in! The restaurant is very nice, and although we only had drinks and desserts, they were very good. It was also helpful for our travel plans that they offer a continental breakfast starting at 5AM, and the full breakfast a bit later.
The only two minimal things that would have been great would have been a fridge in the room, and being able to open the window a bit wider.
Otherwise, the hotel was nice and absolutely recommend."
Home from home to come back to after a day spent exploring the Island.
10/10 Excellent
"We had a wonderful time staying at Callum’s property. It was the perfect base for exploring. Clean, with all the things you could need, and a wonderful stock of black pudding, eggs, and bacon for breakfast! Thank you!"
"Wardicott was an oasis on a hectic travelling schedule! Wonderful hosts, great accommodations, and phenomenal food that was well worth the price! We would have stayed longer if at all possible. Highly recommend Wardicott B&B to anyone.
Tricky getting to it by bus, but use bus W5 and ask the bus drivers(very helpful)."
