About this property
3 Bed in Dulverton (oc-t32975)
Located within a designated International Dark Sky Reserve on the Devon/Somerset border, this lovingly renovated barn conversion brimming with character offers families and groups of friends the perfect base to explore the wild walks and scenic landscapes of Exmoor. This delightful countryside spot is a paradise for keen outdoor explorers, with plenty of winding trails to explore on foot or by bike beginning from the doorstep. The heather-clad moorland of Exmoor National Park can be reached within 2 miles. Situated on the banks of the River Barle, the lively market town of Dulverton, 2.5 miles away, is home to some fabulous independent shops, charming tea rooms, and a fantastic selection of pubs and restaurants. Those who love life by the water can enjoy a great range of water sports, as well as plenty of walking and cycling trails winding around the 530-acre site of Wimbleball Lake, 9 miles away.
The spacious, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner accessed via a large set of French doors, a few steps down from the parking area, truly embraces the beauty of your surrounding scenery, boasting far-reaching countryside views that will capture your imagination. Combining stunning original features such as exposed stonework, beams, and flagstones with elegant, contemporary decor, the heart of this home-away-from-home offers a warming ambience that invites the whole family to unwind; the feature wood burner and Smart TV set the scene for pure relaxation. Through the kitchen, you’ll find a handy utility boot room. Overlooking the open-plan living space, built into the eaves of the barn with a low, sloping ceiling, the charming mezzanine level features a useful small double sofa bed that can accommodate two additional children. Back downstairs, three steps up from the kitchen, you’ll find three delightful bedrooms, all featuring stunning wooden floors and sophisticated en-suite facilities. A super-king-size room and two king-size rooms with all bedrooms converting to twins on request.
There are French doors on both sides of the barn; one set opens onto a large private decking area with seating, and the other opens into the enclosed garden, which includes a grassed area and a cottage-style space with a pergola over a seating area, offering plenty of room for the whole group to enjoy the delightful countryside setting. Outside, there is also a field where dogs can be exercised, but if there is livestock in the fields, dogs must be kept on a lead. Private parking for three cars is available at the barn.
