"Food was well cooked, but the bar and restaurant lacked basic items. Many menu options were unavailable, and the staff was very unwilling to accommodate any requests that differed from the norm (for example, someone in our part wanted a portion of muscles, but because slhe hadn't made a reservation, as the rest of the party didn't want to dine, they refused to serve them even though he was going to take the food outside or the room). Not very friendly staff"

"Please do not hesitate to book this property, you will not be disappointed. We have stayed in so many holiday homes over the years and this is the cleanest property we have ever stayed in. Immaculate doesn't do it justice. Worried about the remote location? Don't be! Dunvegan itself has a general store for essentials as well as places to eat and drink. The Coop in Portree is just a gorgeous 25min ish drive away. Great location for exploring the whole island but especially the east side. Wildlife is abundant. A male Hen Harrier flew straight by the bedroom window. I can't leave this review without mentioning the Otter. What a tremendous privilege to have him/her performing mid morning for my family. Straight across the road, 2 minute walk to the edge of loch Dunvegan I had one of the best experiences of my life. I have looked all over Scotland and was so happy to enjoy 2 hrs with this awesome creature. Our wee doggie Rocco was extremely welcomed and the grounds are enclosed. The kids loved having upstairs while my wife and I had privacy downstairs. My wife suffers with reduced mobility so everything on the ground level was great as the listing suggests. One of the owners, Mette, was very helpful and great with communication before, during and after our holiday. The home had everything you would need, there was nothing that we needed that wasn't there or thought of. A holiday we will always remember. Home was exactly as described, better in fact. Thank you to the owners."

"Phenomenal stay at a breathtaking area in Scotland The Isle of Skye .The room was super clean and had everything one needed in a compact package .We stayed two nights just last week ! The breakfasts which were included were amazing and after having dinner there our first night ,having dinner there for the second night was a no brainer ! We had such kind and attentive service from Mina and Mahmoud . They were so naturally nice and hospitable it felt like we were at home ! The only knock at all was the bartender who worked on night of April 18th , he seemed disinterested just for a simple whisky pour,way different than the professional attentive almost loving care by Mina and Mahmoud . We were in Scotland for 17 days and he by far had the coldest inhospitable demeanor of any bartender THE ENTIRE TRIP ! For a jewel of a bar with beautiful lighting ,displays ,and seating it is even more surprising of how bad his demeanor was .Everything at Brackenhide was 5 star this male bartender who worked night of April 18th was a 1star because he didnt spill our drinks and muttered a thankyou!"
