"History buffs will be in heaven! Hard to find such a well preserved 280 year-old property. The floors throughout are something you cannot copy today. Amazing. The creature comforts are all there and our 4 adult group were very comfortable. We used the 2 queen rooms (one up a narrow/steep stairway over the kitchen but worth it when you get up). *There are another 2 upstairs bedrooms accessed through a second living room. These bedrooms and the adjoining bathroom are connected by a hallway with a very low rail with open area underneath. Just a caution if you have toddlers, sleepwalkers or clumsy people like me;) We hung out in the kitchen room & patio only.The patio has a lovely view and 4 (new?) Adirondack chairs. Very peaceful! There is a large square hole in the deck (old hot tub location?). Another caution if you have very young wobbly toddlers, otherwise not an issue for our group at all.The kitchen has modern major appliances and other than a toaster, it had everything we needed. The small living area next to the kitchen is charming with a pretty fireplace, built-in bookcase, wood beams and 2 arm chairs w/ottoman. The small loveseat has seen better days and a larger sofa in lieu of it would be very welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend. Easiest check-in, lovely host and delivered charm. These great homes won't always be available. What a treat for us."

"It was a fun place for a lot of people to stay. The only negative was the owner not having the air conditioning units in the windows of the bedrooms especially since it was so hot."

"This trip was for our extended family including 10 people ages 18-??. This house is located about 1/2 mile up a windy road above the race brook lodge's main facilities. Everyone loved the secluded location with beautiful views of the mountains out of main living area and 2nd floor. There were so many places for all of us to hang out together and/or get some private time. The house is so purposely decorated with such a personal touch. The kids took a hike right from the house. We drove down to the main lodge and used the pool for a great time. The management is so responsive via text at any time needed. "
