"Beautiful old Hotel. Lots of lovely feature, ceilings, leaded lights, wooden panelling. The staff are all lovely. Giselle served us at our evening meal, and we saw her again at breakfast. Such a lovely young lady. The evening meal was very good and a great price. Breakfast was buffet and was good. The room was a twin, so they tend to be less well kept in my experience of hotels. The beds were comfy, bedding spotless and bathroom clean. But furnishings a little tired. Overall, I like this hotel. It’s the third time I’ve stayed here. It’s relatively inexpensive for Harrogate. Is quite central and suits our needs Will keep on coming back"

"This is a good looking hotel, outside the floral decorations were beautiful and the outside seating was great. Inside the bar and restaurant areas were very impressive. Checkin was a bit slow as a few people were waiting,but another member of staff appeared and we were seen to efficiently. Our room, standard double, pet friendly, was fairly standard. We looked out onto a fire escape and a unit (air con?) was noisy during the day, but not at night. Space wise it was a bit tight, but we have a large German Shepherd, and there was not a lot of room for him. The bed was large and really comfortable, nice bedding. Bathroom was good, the shower cubicle was spacious and the shower powerful. Lovely toiletries provided. We had two dinners, very good, and breakfast was varied and plentiful. The staff were all friendly and professional and we appreciated being able to bring our dog to somewhere nice."

Restaurant for evening meal could not find us a table even after reception said just go to restaurant male waiter very abrupt so we went elsewhere and there was still empty tables when we returned . The hotel should make the effort to find a table for residents."

"Lovely clean room, a few stains on the carpet, which was a shame, but overall a lovely stay and excellent spa. The highlight was the staff, who were friendly, helpful and professional. It seems the biggest complaint from people is the car park, which, according to the staff, is actually not owned by them but by the council, so it's nothing they can control the pricing of. Which, when the guy in front of me was complaining loudly to the reception staff about the price, seems not very fair."
