About this property

Eco-friendly house in the French countryside

  • Want to spend a few days in the typical French countryside? The very large garden, patio and adjacent pond will make for a calm and quaint stay where you’ll be able to relax. There are plenty of outdoor activities in the area (hiking, kayaking, vélorail) as well as great local food. The vineyards of Sancerre and Pouilly-sur-Loire, as well as Guédelon are a 30min drive away. You will find all you need in Donzy (5min drive), including a supermarket with a drive through.

The chalet was built in 2008 with ecology in mind. Whenever possible, materials were locally sourced, such as the timber used to make the patio and the dining table which come from Donzy. The chalet is equipped with solar panels, a solar water heating system and a wood burner stove. You’re also encouraged to use the recycling bins as well as the compost bin. Depending on the season, the fruit trees, berry bushes and hens will give you plenty of fresh fruits and eggs. Note that there isn’t any cockerel so your sleep will stay undisturbed!

A recommander

Peplum, notre husky, a adoré l'endroit !
