This beautiful home is located on a wonderful property. The house was extremely clean and had everything, and i mean everything, we needed or wanted. It is a quiet, peaceful property and the hosts are wonderful. Sitting on the deck in the morning with some coffee watching hummingbird feeder wars, listening to the quiet can't be beat. Thank you, Kelly and Troy, for welcoming us.
Perfect place for my family over spring break. We explored Durango, Mesa Verde, the Four Corners and Cortez. The layout is great enabling us all to be together when we wanted and on our own when we wanted some downtime. Our dog loved the property too.
We couldn't be happier with our stay! We booked this for a mini family reunion and EVERYONE loved it. The house is spacious, comfortable, beautiful and has EVERYTHING you need. The surrounding area is gorgeous, peaceful, everything is easy to find. Troy and Kelly are so warm and friendly and immediately responsive to any questions or issues. We are definitely coming back! (Besides, we have to check out any new artwork!)
Beautiful home in a very quiet area. It’s not a big tourist area but just what we wanted. Close to many tourist sights. The town of Dolores is small but had a few good restaurants to visit. Love that the house was dog friendly. Owners were nice and available if needed. My husband loved the house! Would highly recommend.
Beautiful place a short distance from Mesa Verde and Durango
The area is somewhat remote and beautiful. The place was clean and well stocked with dishes and kitchen appliances. The decks are huge with a variety of wild birds around the property. There is an awesome trail system less than a mile away you can walk, run, or bike on. The owners are friendly and helpful.
It was a great property with 2 master suites and 2 living spaces. We had 4 kids under 8, and it was easy to have them go outside or go to another place to play. We all loved the property size, kids did sledding and nature walks. The only draw back was slow streaming.
Outstanding place in Dolores. Lots of room both in and out doors. Dogs loved it. Awesome breezes all day and night. Comfortable furniture and beds. The hosts were great and we enjoyed talking with them. Very responsive to anything we needed (which wasn't much). Mountain biking was great. Experienced the farmers market on Wednesday evenings. Loved it!
The house was setup great and close to town but far enough for nice privacy and quietness! We actually were able to have a white Christmas!
The house was very clean and kept up and there is a ton of space for the entire family! We had no issues the entire time we were there and enjoyed the entire stay. Hosts were available for any questions or issues!
An item people may want to know is the house is ran off storage tank water so they ask to be mindful of water use, not an issue for us but a good fact to know.
All in All we loved the stay and we would love a return trip when time allows!
The hosts were nearby and accommodating to 5 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. The house was comfortable and clean. It kitchen had a wonderful array of small appliances and gadgets. We would recommend this vacation rental.
Cabin is beautiful and very well stocked. The supply of towels was the most I’ve ever seen. Kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of dishes and cookware. I appreciated how clean and well kept everything was. It is very spacious with plenty of seating and beds for a large group. Everything is of good quality, not the normal cheap rental stuff. Hosts are very friendly. The only caution I would give is artwork isn’t necessarily suitable for minors. However, I highly recommend this cabin for adult travelers!
The property was great - the owners were very nice and easy to get a hold of. They were very accepting of our two dogs we brought and all the kids. I would highly recommend this place if you want something a little outside of town.
Our group was atypical: five guys pushing 80 who have meet annually for decades for some sort of outdoor adventure. Our camping days over, we have recently resorted to Vrbo's. Despite our group being atypical, the home was perfect for our needs: spacious, beautiful, well-appointed with everything a visitor could want, lots of beds and bathrooms, and adorned with the art work of the owners. The kitchen is fabulous. The setting is spectacular, in close proximity to local hiking, Mesa Verde, and Canyon of the Ancients National Monument. The owners were very responsive to queries. Everything was as advertised, only better. Everyone in the group raved about what a find it was. Thank you Troy and Kelly.
This home was absolutely gorgeous. It was clean, well stocked, has so much to offer. The location is easily accessible to Mesa Verde, Hovenweep, Four Corners. Hiking, beautiful area. The hosts are friendly and helpful. We took nightly walks with kids and dogs. Very comfortable. Would definitely return.
The home was beautiful. We had 5 adults & 4 kids (ages 3, 5, 6, & 7) in our group. The home is beautiful, very clean with plenty of room for our large group. The property was well maintained & fenced and very private. Troy & Kelly are great hosts and very accommodating to all our needs. The location was perfect and I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy nature in Colorado at it's best.
This is a great house and the remote setting is perfect for getting away. Kitchen is great, house is spotlessly clean. If I were to go again I would take a dog. The property is set up so the pup can have a great stay along with the humans. The only critique I have of this property is to say that not all the art work is family friendly. I realize that art is subjective and sometimes meant to challenge. However for younger members of the house, in my opinion some of these pieces go too far. Photos of two wall hangings below and you can make up your own mind. In any case, I believe this should be disclosed in the property listing information.
We spent Christmas and New Years at this house and with our family, 6 adults and 3 kids (12, 6 and 4 months). The house is a great set up for a larger group, as the kitchen is large with lots of storage and the downstairs is has 2 bedrooms, living area and bath. The location is great, close to town that has a few good restaurants and a grocery, liquor store, or you can go to Durango or Telluride in an hour or less. The San Juan National Forest is also just about 1 mile from the house with lots of other access and trails near by. We also went to Moab for the day, which was just about 1.5 hours from the house and an absolutely beautiful drive, as was the drive from the house to Telluride. Hosts were also great and quick to reply to any questions. If you are looking for a house in a great location to many things and not in the touristy CO areas, look no further! We will be back for sure!
If Kelly and Troy ever decide to open a hospitality school, I’m enrolling. This place wasn’t just “ready” for guests — it was five-star, secret-weapon, overachiever ready. Every detail had been thought through like they were preparing for royalty.Let’s start with the beds. I am ridiculously picky about beds (top 5% comfort or I’m out), and these passed with flying colors. I slept so well I woke up questioning my life choices about my own mattress at home. Bonus points for the extra pillows in each room — clearly, they know the love language of good sleep. The kitchen? Oh, honey. When they say “fully equipped,” they mean it. We’re talking two coffee makers (drip and K-cup), more dishes than a Williams-Sonoma display wall, spices I’ve never even used (and I’m a good cook), bakeware, grill gear, and yes — I swear I saw a fondue set or a chafing dish lurking. I could have opened a pop-up restaurant without leaving the house. The 3-acre dog run was basically Disney World for my city dogs. They patrolled, sniffed, ran, and wore themselves out daily doing whatever important canine business dogs do.Tech & comfort: TVs right where you want them, every entertainment option you could need, and internet so fast and reliable it made my home service look like two tin cans and a string. Bathrooms? Stocked like a boutique hotel.Bottom line: Kelly and Troy’s place isn’t just a rental — it’s an experience. Cozy, thoughtful, practical, and a little bit magical. Five stars, two thumbs up
First of all, the property is gorgeous and the owners are very dog friendly. The location is outside the town but it's still close by to pick up tacos when you have a craving. Big dogs or little dogs will love their stay here as well.
The home is decorated with the owners original art throughout. The furnishings are very comfortable and pleasing. The kitchen really has everything you will need to prepare meals and cocktails. There is a dual coffee pot that makes the Keurig cups or a pot of coffee. Also an espresso machine is available if that's preferred. We placed a pick up order on line for food supplies at Walmart in Cortez, CO and picked that up on the way in. We also shopped at City Market in Cortez for fill ins during the week.
We only used one floor of the house but the ground floor makes it a perfect house for extended family or another family to join in on the fun.
We took day trips daily and used the house as a home base. It was a great place to come home to at night to relax after a day filled with exploring and hiking.
We managed to hit 4 National Parks in a week, Mesa Verde, Black Canyon, Arches and Canyonlands. We visited the Four Corners Monument and took a trip up from Durango to Silverton which was breathtaking.
Don't hesitate to book this lovely home. It's just perfect!
We were looking for a getaway with our dogs, and I can't say enough amazing things about this property. Exactly as described and still beyond our expectations. On top of it all, having a 3-acre area for our pups to enjoy meant the world to us (and them). Whether we come back for another anniversary trip, or with family and friends, I know we will love every minute. Highly recommend.
